1. In my experience not really. 2. He isnt doing it for performance he is doing it for tire selection.
Yup now your profile will be correct giving you a larger contact patch allowing higher cornering loads. Oh and the GSXR wheel is a lighter package allowing the motor to spin up easier.
I read why he is doing it. But what about safety? What about reducing cost? What about continuing the trend of arguing about it?
I just so happen to know somebody who would be all about that shit. Her and I ran :26's at Jennings. Granted that was on my R1, but still...she would go apeshit if Mongo actually allowed that. I would never hear the end of it..."can we, can we, for real, can we". Haha.
Smart move on the DB rule IMO. I have never ran one myself but there are plenty of people who may chose another org to race with rather than spend $25 on ebay for a stock screen. I know it sounds stupid that someone who is going to spend hundreds of dollars a weekend racing would chose one org over the other based a $25 part but people are that petty.
It is petty, but I have also heard people say the same thing. I am just like "really? ". Usually when people say stuff like that, it is just an excuse. But i dont blame Mongo for changing that rule; i dont even care about the windscreen either way and i was tired of seeing people complain about something as silly as that.
I can't believe this wasn't mentioned already. When they announced it at the Tally rider's meeting last month I just figured I didn't hear him correctly.
