Agreed. And I'm sure some people may argue something along the lines of "Well, so now we have to spend tons of money to compete against Chip?" But the clear answer is no. You can spend less money on the bike and beat him (ie, Randolph). Yes James' bike isn't the cheapest in the field, but if you want to build Chip's bike, it'll cost a whole lot more than you'd imagine.
John, Are you proposing that 1989 4-cylinder Hino cab-over are performance indexed into Heavyweight Twins? If so, i'll second that petition and start soliciting sponsors immediately. Tex
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RIMQ0c7JKIU Chip is either a demon on the brakes or the other guys are pussies.
no kidding. that thing weighed how much? something like 600 lbs? and he's outbraking what looked like SVs. well done sir
man, the r6's just ran away from that bike.... definitely good on chip for riding something new like that, and good on wera for figuring out a very fair way to put it in a class to race in.
This is the biggest crybaby post I've ever read on this forum. This is awesome. I don't care what anyone says - this is racing. A mixture of conventional and developmental technology on the same grid, tried and true vs. pioneers duking it out....it only helps our sport. And I think it's cool as hell to see it in WERA.
So according to the performance indexing process you could have two identical prototype bikes running two different classes by way of one rider being a much faster rider than the other? If the rider gets faster do they still get moved, or is it only if the bike is faster? How do you know if it's either/or, or a combination of both?
OK dude seriously now you just sound like a cross between lever and Davie stone? Maybe your some kind of weird love child from them?
