I asked for any 2 digit number since the R6 plates are small, but I ended up with 785.. which just happens to be my birthday (july 1985)
Mine is in honor of my dad. We lost him way too early in life. 608 was his volunteer fire department unit number.
912 - after my son's birthday (seems to be a trend here ) Before I raced though I was 911 for years at trackdays, until a tech inspector give me crap about it around 2007. His comment of "what are ya, happy about what happened on nine-eleven or something?" didn't sit too well with me, especially given my work during that time. I was going to explain to the jack-in-the-box it was because of my profession, but then I figured if one moron didn't get it that meant other morons wouldn't either. So 912 it became.
wera often assignes number for birthdays if the number you request isn't available. as for my numbers i was first 421 because i wanted something with 21 in it and it wasn't available. then i went to 983 for sept 1983 (birth month and year) after my provisional novice days. then after a good friend died in a motorcycle crash i adopted 213 for my number 21 and his number 13. i was worried i would loose it when i became expert because westby is 213 as well.
my favorite number is 6 and I was born in '69 so I had 669 when I started racing mx. Then my ama membership number was 667 which I requested when I started with wera but got 669 instead? Coincidence, I think not!lol
I like the way you think. My street address is 609 so I picked it for my race number because it was the same number upside down.
1 and 3 are my lucky numbers, so I threw a lucky 7 in front ...713 and its also the first part of my address.
