#15 For Bart Starr of the epic Packers from the 60's. Classy athlete, gentleman off the field, but a warrior on.....respectful and smart. Things you dont find in athletes anymore......
I got 888 because my HS football number '88' was taken. I dropped an 8 the following year. Dropped one more 8 a couple of years later. Now I guess it represents how many years I've been a novice. I'm just waiting on my 10 (L) plate to come before I change the color to white.
That's a good one Steve. I'll just have to remember not to panic Actually, 42 was Jackie Robinson's number. I had 426 my first year. "6" is the number I wore when I played hockey.
Donald Jacks told me to take 59. He said people would think he was my hero! That was shortly before JU set him down a pretty good path. Still miss him
I want to have #19 when I do decide to switch from track days to racing. 19 has been my number through all my sports.
9 My grandfather was a huge baseball fan and Ted Williams was his favorite player. My parents requested that number for me for that reason when I started T-ball and I have tried to honor it ever since. I have had number 9 in every sport I have played from little league to high school. My daughter started wearing it as well. I have had it so long I am actually superstitious about NOT having it. I had to explain that to Evelyne(and plead just a little) to get it with WERA. THANKS AGAIN EVELYNE! To win even just a Novice championship last season with that number meant a great deal.
