I know it sounds weird, but I wish that would have already happened here. I would have loved for our daughter to move back here to California, but she couldn't afford to live out here on a nurses salary and buy a house like she did in Texas. Now mama wants to buy a house somewhere where our daughter and her husband can afford to live, so when the grandkids start popping out we can be near. In reality, I think I'm going to keep working at least until I'm 70, as I'm still enjoying the challenges of growing the business. So that means flying back and forth occasionally. We discussed giving her the amount we would have put down on a house in Texas as a down payment out here for a house. But to be close enough we could help with babysitting, etc. you are still looking at a place that is 1 Million. With current interest rates and house prices, the payment would still be $6-7K per month and would just be way too stressful. I think her current payment in Texas is $1900 per month all in, since she has 2.x% interest rates and bought a 300K place around 6 years ago.
or move and mess up yours! haha. naw but either way, i'll never say never, but i don't see DC ever really have that plummet out of sheer power concentration and shit, but then we also don't really get the fluctations in either direction. just kinda a steady slow trog up the hill constantly. it'll work out fine for me upon my eventual move here in the next couple years (hopefully). sell high, go somewhere and buy low or maybe wait for a correction and rent for a bit then buy. i can't be too mad about it.
Yeah that will never happen in California, it's too beautiful, and the weather too great. I agree about the blue cities. It's really too bad about the houses being affordable. Back in the day a normal person with a normal job could afford a house, now their living with their parents, to maybe afford a condo.
Damn, look at you guys in a crypto thread arguing about property taxes! If this isn't the beeb... Back on track. I've got a few coins that have gone stellar. I keep fighting the urge to move them to BTC.
Looks like the IRS is finally starting to prosecute Crypto bros. https://arstechnica.com/tech-policy...o-to-cheat-on-taxes-bitcoin-bro-gets-2-years/
That's right...do what half the IRS agents do. File them...just never pay them. Better yet start a proxy war to launder your gains.
