I completely agree and understand what you are saying. The initial "stuff" and contact could easily be considered a "racing incident". I wouldnt have given that a second thought. Was it "rough", maybe...but "rough" passes happen all the time, especially in the Expert class. But then looking back, waiting for him to get up beside him and hitting him again? You didnt have to be there or be a mind-reader to know what happened, it is all right there on video. Of course he is young, probably immature, hot-headed and was "caught up in the moment", but that doesnt excuse intentionally banging into another rider.
Should the guy be banned from racing for life? Of course not. Should he be taught some sort of lesson and given a "vacation" to maybe think about the potential dangers of his actions and hopefully mature a little bit? IMO, yes. But of course, what any of us say doesn't make a shit. Not our call. Probably the best thing to come out of it is that people will see/recognize the name and fellow racers will know who to avoid on the track. There are a couple of guys in the SE that I make a point of avoiding on the track.
What initial "stuff" are you talking about? The only contact the two made is at the very end of the video, in the second of the two right-handers. You can't see Joey's helmet until the contact is entirely over, so we've no idea where he was looking. There was no look and then hit again. There was pass, look, pass (hit) again... The passes they made on each other just before the front straight (where Pascarella inexplicably sits up/looks/slows) were clean and, frankly for the very front of a 600 class, borderline polite.
This was just begging to be said. If you two wanna turn yourselves into a greasy spot on a country road somewhere, go right ahead. I don't give a shit and I don't think anybody else does, regardless what they say to your face. But you two monkeys are not going to do it on my racetrack. Now y'all heard of a "Japanese Inspection?" Japanese Inpsection, you see, when the Japs get in a load of lettuce they're not sure they wanna let in the country, why they'll just let it sit there on the dock 'til they get good and ready to look at. But then of course, it's all gone rotten... ain't nothing left to inspect. You see, lettuce is a perishable item... like you two monkeys. You trade paint one more time, you so much as touch, I'm gonna Black Flag the two of you, and take apart your motorcycles for five laps. Then, if you pass inspection and you put your bikes back together, I might let you back into the race. Now, just to show there's no hard feelings we're all gonna go out to dinner together.
Dangerous move and poor behavior by this kid but his father is the one who needs the kick to the ass!
I'm sorry, but you're delusional if you don't see those moves as intentional. Hell, for all intents and purposes, even Joey disagrees with you. (based in his FB posts).
1980 USSR goalie? And I agree, telling me my son is a "good kid" is the best thing you could possibly say.
