I'm sure there's a thread somewhere, but damned if I can find it... The "special instructions" link on the WERA site are from 2022- anything new? Looking at the online registration the only class a Ninja 400 could possibly race in is F3...yes?
Things haven't changed that much but the 2024 stuff is up - I'll dig up the proper links in a bit. That's it for the 400, all the small bike stuff there is based on vintage racing as you might expect.
Has anyone ridden the new surface? I always said I would go back to VMD when they re-surfaced so I guess it's put up or shut up time.
I have only pre registered like once or twice cause my schedule is so messed up im never a 100% sure I’m gonna make it.
I know BTW for everyone, the schedule is up, totally forgot to put the link on the schedules page. Also the info page is here - https://www.wera.com/pdfs/vmdinstructions2024.pdf
More info here - https://www.wera.com/pdfs/2024 VMD RR Meet Guidelines.pdf Just kind of an overall view of things. Also - we will be doing an email again prior to the event to all pre entered riders that you will need to show at the gate to get in early on Thursday.
My schedule is quite messy. If I do not pre enter for VMD I know I can't get in early Thursday. When could I get in?
The new surface is awesome. We rode there again on Monday. Rain came in after lunch and we were shut down for about an hour. The track dried in what seemed to be 15 minutes. I went out after the rain thinking I was going to have to tip toe around, and the track was already bone dry with tons of grip. Was riding at race pace by lap 2. Some guys went out on street tires before I did when there was still water on the track and said it was night and day different compared to the old surface. As far as racing in the full-on rain, I think the grip will be very similar to Barber over the past few years.
Silly question of the day- OK to bring the pups? Looks like it's OK on Mid-O website but just double-checking in case my reading comprehension sucks
