Need street bike tires but haven't bought any in 10 years so the model names are a mystery to me.

Chaparral has some stuff on closeout but I have no idea what I'm looking at.

Obviously sport bike tires but I'm old and slow so the latest greatest vs a prior model doesn't matter to me.

Can someone school me on what tires I should be looking at?

If you're not hammering the bike every time you ride, then get the Angel GT's. I've had them on a few sporty bikes and they do the job. If you want sporty-ish and long life, go for the Michelin Pilot Roads (5 or 6). They aren't cheap but they last. I sold my 1000XR to my brother, it had the Angle's on it with about half life left. He liked them but put the Road 6's on recently and said they are great tires.

Honestly if riding at sane speeds on the street the " old " gen tires are more than adequate. Michelin still offers the original Pilot's and they sell. Tires have gotten like motorcycles, way better than most people can use.

If you can find a closeout deal on a set of Rosso III's, they are a great street tire. I used them plenty of times at the track coaching on street bikes in Int/Adv group and they had plenty of grip for that. Always felt great on the street as well.

The Rosso IV is the successor and even better.

I like the Bridgestone Battleax Hypersport S22 that came on my 2023 Yamaha XSR900 a lot.

Rosso IV are amazing tires and the price and wear characteristics cannot be beat.

Angel GT's are good and even run out well on my FJR1300. Also the Dunlop Road Smart.
VFR800 has Michelin Road 5 and the FZ1 has the Kenda KM-1 which is surprisingly impressive so far.

Not a Pirelli, but in the Pirelli family, I have seen great reviews of the Metzler M9RRs as street tires, especially in damp/wet conditions.

Get the RaceAttack 2 for sporty riding or the RoadAttacks for boring riding. Grippy AND long lasting.

For folks that like their tires round, black, and sticky. lol

I"ve been running the Angel GT's on my 1290SD-r and have been very happy with them. I usually get 7k out of the rear tire with fairly spirited riding and no TC. I need a new set badly, debating on another set (my third) or maybe going with the Rosso III or IV just to see the differences.
