Time for a new 1000, but which one?

    I can certainly attest to their problems as most older Italian bikes had, but the Italian bikes are all much more reliable and (I believe) all require much less frequent and less thorough maintenance intervals. Figure MV's current lineup is split between triples (originating in the 2013 675) and the inline 4 (originating in the F4 and evolved to current). That means working out bugs and reliability over time as well as parts availability to keep them running are easier.

    I would just about be willing to put up with their problems for one of these. I figure it must be what dating a supermodel must be like.

    My F4 RR has 12,000 miles on it and I’ve never had any problems with it. And I have a 998, 999, RSV, and Mille to compare it against.

    The MV is like owning a Dodge Viper, you don’t buy them for the refinement.

    My dealer marks the bikes down 1500-2000 so they are otd at msrp

    A friend bought a beautiful one ex wera guy.He summed it up to be married to a model that was beautiful to look at,but had a dry puzsy like sandpaper,and did nothing well,other than look good. They are beautiful,though!
    Reminds me of the TM 250 I bought once!! Beautiful/exotic/fast,but what an oil leaking hunk of shit with horrible egronomics! Foot pegs were waay to high! Maybe built for circus midgets?

    I believe the GSXR 1K (non R version) is $16,499 plus TTL
    My 24 GSXS1K+ was $14,199 but I grabbed it for $13,500 + TTL

    @ducnut & @IL8APEX the F3 R (basically that blue bike but in red) is now $17,998. The RR model that gives you a full side fairing of carbon fiber with the wider panels and forged carbon interior winglets, a lightened real wheel, a grippier seat, and a solo seat cover is $22k. The real beauty is the F3 Competizione. Carbon wheels, full Ohlins w/ damper, full Akropovic titanium exhaust, machined triple, gas cap, etc... and limited to 300. $34k, but it is a thing of perfection. 350lbs. dry w/ 160hp.

    To be fair, the RSV4 has a revised engine with 220hp now.
