I haven't read more than five posts in this thread but I'll take my chances with Johnny B and post this in case it belongs here.
I have one and love it! Grand Cherokee SRT, damn thing is fast, fun, and can carry groceries, guns, and 5 people. All at the same time
Awesome shots again! I finally changed ball joints out. I think it's fixed but am hesitant to say with any certainty... waiting to get some more miles under it first.
It makes me so happy to see these things being used as they were designed / intended. In Ft. Lauderdale / Miami there are tons of them, none of them are stock, and they are all being driven on the roads. There are NO trails within 50 miles of here, yet at least 1/3 of the vehicles on the road have some type of serious off road capability- lifted trucks or jeeps. I have to admit they look cool, but damn, I would feel like a total poser.
I've noticed that in FL also. I don't go "off-roading" either but my hobbies take me down some sketchy trails. I've had my Tacoma stuck more than a few times getting to surf spots, climbing areas, or just the edge of a hike or hunt. If I hadn't bought the Jeep, I would have had to beef up the Tacoma. Truth is it would probably be fine stock, so the lift and tires are still just for looks. It doesn't suck to have more than you need though.
Mine usually sits unless I’m heading off-road or weathers nice enough for the top down. Think I’ve drove it about 3 times in the past few months. I have been travelling a lot but no time for any real good wheeling. Probably go out to the private land tomorrow and take it as it’s too far to walk to fish (I’m lazy) and jeeps one of the few things that will make through that terrain.
negative... they've had 2018 JK's for a while.. i think the last JK rolls off the line this saturday. don't ask me why the overlap, it's kinda weird and it seems like they'd have to sell them at a discount
