partially true. of the last 10 years Jags actually got a lot more reliable. also the Aston Martin V8 Vantage is 1. easy to work on and 2. also pretty reliable. to also be fair... i wouldn't own an Audi just as much as i wouldn't own a Range Rover and you seem to love those dumb things, so ce la vie.
As much as we like to poke at the new (insane) ad campaign, and (ridiculous) EV only future, I would still love to flog one of these on the track. F-Type R75 Coupe.
I h I owned a number of point S cars some at the same time. Eventually got smart and bought a car that might work every day to have at the same time. The Spitfire’s wiring harness caught fire again? I’m take the Alfa. The Alfa doesn’t want to start today because it’s Tuesday? I’ll drive the VW. The VW worked 90 ~ 95% of the time.
Forgive me but I had assumed that Jaguar was Ford kinda like Lexus/toyota and Acura/honda? I know that Lincoln is/was fords luxury side but wasn’t Jaguar kinda like supposed one step up?
Ford once had a large stake in them and they did do a lot of platform and parts sharing. Same for Volvo for a period. Half the parts on that 2011 Volvo XC60 she drives are Ford Motor Company parts. It's largely why you shouldn't get too hung up on brands anymore. There's a lot of cross pollination in all of them these days.
Ford sold them off in 2008 to Tata of India. Don’t know if Tara sold them off but they “merged” with Land Rover in the twenty teens if I remember right.
Years ago a dude I knew got a Sterling as his graduation present. Dead nuts reliable. The molding and trim all fell off and the leather had to be repaired a few times but it didn’t leave you stranded.
That's just an English Honda. So of course it wouldn't strand you. But at least you'd have that stuffy English leather smell...
