thats because you're paying for someones design/time/lack of creativity. A Sprinter/promaster/Transit could be built out nicely with a bed, 2 bikes and more.

bag on the Fiat all you want. That FWD platform has some advantages. Lot's of room for tanks under it. Winnebago even hangs a generator under it.

That's the biggest plus. Rolling into the track at 2am walking 8 feet and falling into bed

Sprinter conversions ARE definitely expensive ( I'd be embarrassed to say out loud how much I've spent on mine) , but the part most people miss is how much they pay you back over the long haul in fuel . Our last trip to Asheville , with two motorcycles and food/water/etc loaded in it , we got 25.7mpg . Not too mention all of the electricity we used was free from the solar array. My build also had to be where I could sleep at least two without unloading.

It's all relative, and completely specific to each person/family's needs and how they like to travel.

There are just too many factors involved in these discussions to arrive at something even resembling a definitive answer.

I like my dually with 42' TH'er...actually the wife likes it more as it's a bit much but I can fit 4 bikes and a pit scooter in it so we often couple a track visit with a few days of street riding in the mountains. The "way back" (ie garage) is actually additional living space with dual queen bunk beds that rise to the roof, TV and dining room type table. My gripe is I wish it was more of a garage with bare walls for mounting racks, tires etc so that they didn't have to lie on the floor between the bikes. The walls are mostly windows so I'm really limited with any options. Also there's no way to determine where any of the studs are for mounting stuff.

    Agreed. Love that part.

Same gripe with mine but to be honest I don't think those studs are very strong. Wouldn't trust them with much weight.

Honestly that's where having wood and leather will come in handy - it's a hell of a lot easier to clean than carpet and cloth. Also getting the real wood cabinets is always better than pressboard crap in lower end units.

So, no luck in my search so far. Lots of units, a couple NICE rigs, some with some scary delamination and other signs of weather, some with 'interesting' modifications, none in my price range that I'm willing to spend on and none that'll take my offers based on book/bank.

RV, specifically looking for a Fun Mover style setup so I don't have to deal with a trailer in and out of my driveway. That is a nice looking rig though.

My class C is 9 years old and the mattress is toast. The foam goes flat against the plywood underneath. I put a memory foam topper on but that only helped a little and didn’t solve the problem. I can’t ride all day if I can’t sleep at night. My RV takes a short queen sized mattress with radiused corners. Anyone have a recommendation on a replacement?

usually can have those made to order at a local specialist. Or just get a standard sized unit and cut it youself. What do you sleep on at home?

I guess you could get a custom mattress, or cut up a standard sized mattress, but I went on Amazon, and searched "short queen size rv mattress with radius corners" and got more than 40 mattresses. Just wondering if anyone has a recommendation for an off the shelf product.

Just check at a mattress store. We had one locally that could get them in a couple days.
