Been there, it's a bad place. Once you convince yourself your kid will be better off without you it's tough to come back. Reach out people. RIP Put.
I'm almost certain that's the last weekend I saw him. Darren had those shirts and hats for 314 made up and we all had them. I still have mine. I need to look around for pics. There's a bunch from those weekends. There's a pic floating around of a bunch of us at dinner at VIR - I think Putter was in that one too.
Well said, thank you. I was there recently (still digging out), so I have sympathy and empathy for those fighting this fight. It is a terrible tragedy to lose anyone this way, but this one hurt in its own way. For anyone who knew Putter personally, you have my deepest condolences, as does anyone here who found Putter to be a great piece of this oddball family.
There's a lot of people that you don't see in that photo. I think that's the night I had to carry buck up three flights of stairs.
Same way it always happens - poor life choices. I see that picture, and I remember a line from a story I heard a few hundred times "Shut the F&*@ UP! Lee has to race in the morning!"
I only know two individuals on this board (Panther & Hawk) and I'm saddened to say that I've not met any of the rest of you on a personal basis. Even then I consider all of you my friends including Putter. I'm so sorry that his life ended so soon and especially sorry that he had such a struggle to deal with. I had no idea about any of this until this morning at breakfast when Panther informed me about Putter. RIP Erik. Your struggle has ended.
