Beeeeeeebpthiiiiiiiippppddd kekiiiiitthbeeeeeeeeeeeppll is all I got after reading “28.8k modem” still have some trauma from the 90s
I still have trauma from ::checks calendar:: two years ago from when we finally dropped dialup as a service. There is still demand for it, in 20 freaking 24.
When I bought my business in 2005 they had dial up, because of cheapness and fear of people getting in. A friend of mine through racing, our sons raced together, kept dial up until this year. He would only connect it to his system for around an hour a day to download email and whatever else he needed, because he was paranoid about viruses, etc. One time I tried to talk with him about getting into the 00's and he didn't want any part of it. Runs a very successful and much more profitable company than mine, so I said, hey it works for you, that's what matters. His son is buying the business and finally convinced dad to make the change over this past summer.

The Tytler’s bike is interesting. It’s either the fastest thing on track some weekends or like it’s actively trying to kill Cam and JD. JD obviously struggling way more overall with it and it just looks like it’s always trying to throw him to the moon. You don’t see the same from SDK’s bike, week in and week out. Attack… what an underwhelming year for a bunch of reasons.
Again, a train of 4 marques and 5-6 bikes. Been a long time since we saw this on the regular in SBK. Nice win by Baz. Impressed by a lot of story lines this year but Bobby on the Wrench bike has to be one of the most surprising.
Maybe I was just reading into it, but Cam's face before the race seemed to say he knew he was about to go on a rodeo bull ride. I hope he stays in the series a few more years.
JD didn’t get a ton of tv time this year but whenever he did, the bike looked wild. That BMW has bitten Cam a few times now… I wonder if he has an eye on an Attack seat? It seems the teams that use the WSBK parts struggle with this and the Dunlops and the teams start having to do their own thing swingarm and development wise. It took the Ducati guys a bit to figure out the Dunlops too. I wonder if that’s just some of it. Anyone know who is replacing Tom Halverson as well? Someone new comes in and wants to shake some things up on the Yamaha side? Anyone have any rumors from NJMP? Riders, teams, etc for 2025?
Believe it or not @ CoTA a few people were throwing Colin Edwards and Tony Roma's name around to replace him
I know it's popular on the Beeb to hate on Herrin, but if any of you watch his youtube on the regular, Him and Baz have a really great relationship and its a lot of fun to watch. Baz seems like such a good dude and he's genuinely happy to be here and racing in MA. I'm glad he came back and petrucci got sent back to WSBK. Hopefully Baz is back next year.
Yamaha has a long hierarchy of racing management 'earning their chops' working up through the ranks. Larry Griffis, Keith McCarty, and Tom Halverson all toiled under Kenny Clark, and worked their way to the top. Tom was promoted to road racing manager from the motocross side a long time ago, just before Daytona in 1988. He learned quickly, under Keith's guidance. It will be interesting to see what all develops with Yamaha's road racing program this off-season. The Star Racing MX program is a solid private - factory relationship. I don't think Richard is going anywhere else, no matter who is in charge of YMUS racing for '25. Regarding the Cypress 'move' discussion. More corporate work is being moved to Kennesaw with every passing year. I want to see Josh Hayes 4 back racing a Yamaha in MotoAmerica again next year.
