I met with Chuck a few times in the beginning of MA when they were trying to keep my Toyota branded semi in the paddock… his story is interesting as he’s a racer that turned wrenches to keep going and then into his roles more like today… he was one of the more professional ones imo
Chuck is awesome. been by our pits checking on us a couple times. always nice talking to him in person or phone. Really cool he answered an email so quickly.
What I don’t understand is why it works on YouTube but not their website. Just doesn’t make sense to me. I’ll happily admit I’m not a subject matter expert so there definitely may be a reasonable explanation. But I’d love to know what it is. and man I’ve spent a lot of posts on here defending MA in a myriad of ways, including the bitching about Live+. But fuck it’s gotten rather indefensible. Figure your shit out.
I'm not an expert on distributed Web stuff but it works with YouTube because they are managing the distribution and they're really good at that. Whoever handles the back end for MA is ... not. The crazy thing is that there are less than 700 viewers for the YT live stream right now. How many subscribers are they trying to support on a Saturday morning?
Cool, thanks Papa You know Fred Merkel used #27 and that 70s font because it was Skip Aksland’s that he looked up to in flat track
Yea they swapped to it now. Guess I’m used to GP or WSBK where scheduled start time means flag drop time. Where looks like stock 1000 hasn’t even taken their warm up lap as of start time.
Wasn't Chuck involved with Team Robert's when Wayne rode for KR ? Mechanic, crew chief ? Chuck and Wayne have been very approachable at the MA events I've attended as well.
Yeah, wrenched his way through Europe racing for awhile iirc… watch that podcast Papa posted… he probably talks about his old days of Robert’s/Rainey… but he was a good racer too so that takes him up a bunch of notches from non racers in those positions
Hayden’s pass was nuts. Especially after his rodeo ride in that same place a few laps prior. Great race.
I was pulling for Uribe to get the win but you gotta hand it to Gillim. That was so badass, the way he turned in early, across the stream, to just squeeze by, and then on the exit the way his tires just nibbled at the edge of that same puddle that sent him sideways, kicking up a little spray was terrifying and exhilarating!
