Glenn’s old secret at Summit that no one ever seemed to recognize was that there was a lot more traction on the inside of 10 and on the front straight in the rain. I think it was 94 or 95, back in my Virginia Breeze days (former Mad Dog FZR 1000 powered OW-01), at FUSA Road Atlanta in the rain, Glenn came through the gravity cavity and as he was coming back up the hill towards the bridge, the idle adjuster flopped loose and went into the carbs holding the butterflies open. We were all ass puckered as we watched him go sideways under the bridge, down the hill and through the last turn before being able to kill power on the front straight. Late 90s at Gingerman in the SBR days, again in the pouring down rain, we pulled a Broome and bought all of the fog city shields. We are standing at the starting line before the endurance race. Glenn turn his head towards Tray Batey. Tray has, if I remember correctly tape on his hose as a makeshift breath deflector that wasn’t really working. Tray had this crazy look in his eyes as he looked over through his fogged face shield and Glenn just cracks a smile through his crystal clear face shield. I think we were one of 2 teams that didn’t crash that race. Glenn had a full front straight lead at the beginning of the first lap and never looked back. I could go on and on but, yeah, he was definitely not normal and a beast in the rain.
one point difference so, it's a race between those 2 tomorrow, whoever beats who is the champ,,,perfect way to settle it!
