You could just run true duals right off the headers and exit either side of the ridge beam, don't forget the chrome slash cut tips.
Or you could run it up to the ceiling and exit out the end wall and then extend it up externally to the required height. I found in Alaska that it was easier to weather seal a wall exit compared to a roof.

can you look into the space? If its scissor truss built then you could do what you want. If its a beam like Egg said...you dont want to open that can of worms. And yes there will be a box at the roof. You will want to run double wall black pipe to the box and transition to triple wall up thru the void and out of the roof.

I replaced a fireplace with a stove 2 years ago. Due tot eh location of the pipe thru the roof...smack dab in the middle of a valley, i chose to move the pipe over and run 2 45* offsets inside. Does look awesome...not so much. But does it vent the smoke and not leak...yes. So mission accomplished.

Find a good contractor/carpenter and not a handyman or woodstove guy for this.

Also this. They may drop you. They are avoiding fire burning things now.

Maybe you could put a few windmills out there and get free electricity.

My only concern is if @motion bought that fireplace from AliExpress too....

Why not put the stove against the side wall and plumb the chimney out through the wall?

It looks like there's about 8" of space between the T&G and the roof underlayment. I don't have any way of peaking in there, unless I remove a lighting can. I could dig out the house plans.

I bought it from a dealer in Canukistan... funny story about the exchange rate. They couldn't figure it out and didn't believe what Google had to say. Wanted to charge me an extra $450, but I got them straightened out in the end. I told them I would just pay in CAD, but they said, no that's not possible LOL. OK

I think that might be a last resort. I like the look of the black pipe going up thru the ceiling.

I don't think I'm going to need a shield... I hope not at least.

I'd rather lose a nut than ruin that view, but, weather it's trussed or a ridge beam frame, there will be something carrying some load right in the middle, so, no bueno. Find a different spot and exit through a wall as mentioned!

Either pull a can and look/take pics or get the plans. Any contractor is going to want to know what's there before he even thinks about cutting into it.

also 8in isnt much. Your going ot have a lot of Chimney box in hanging down, unless there is a low profile option i dont know about.

So it looks like there's a couple 2x12's up there, probably right in the way.

looks like you'll need a "Y" pipe up near the ceiling

Looks like just blocking between rafters, if so you should have no problem going right through middle.

If only there was a way to unobtrusively run an exhaust pipe out through the glass window behind the fire box, alongside the wall on the outside, and maybe vent the smoke outside the view...

Here is the wall to the left (south) of the main view, which is my alternate location. The benefit of this is that the chimney is on the leeward wind side of the roof peak, so perhaps will draw air better than being on the north (windward) side?

Yep...just blocking according to the detail. All the load is being carried by the LVLs. You won't harm anything moving the blocking far enough from the ridge to get a vent through.

So you guys are saying I could go straight up thru the peak without a jog?
