I finally picked up a weapon today ....

    Canik Rival 9 mm
    Holuson 407 green dot
    Streamlight light
    Fiocchi 115 grain (200 rounds)
HST 147 grain hollowpoints (20 rounds, damn they expensive)
Peltor electronic ear protection (ear muffs)
    Uplula speed loader
20 round mag (gun came with (2) 18's

I may have gotten an HK VP9 but it comes with nothing as far as accessories go. I would had to have bought an optic plate from HK.....The Canik just comes with a lot of shit. Backstraps, extended mag release buttons, magwell, 5 differenet optic plates, (2) 18 rd mags, tools, etc...

The Sig xten 10 mm was on my shortlist too as my pillow gun.

150 rounds later and this was my best group...I put the 18 mag on the plate....10 yds.
3-3 1/2" group except for that lower straggler.

I know it should take maybe 3 groups of 3 to zero in your iron sights, but I was playing around with my new toy.

Nice choice, and if this is from your first day of shooting that's a pretty damn good start.
Keep practicing and you will improve quickly if you pay attention to what you are doing.
Maybe get some basic instruction from someone local. Always helps to get someone else's eyes on exactly what you are doing.

You can also get some classes on youtube. For solid basic fundamentals and things to think about when you actually carry I really like CarryTrainer.

For all things red dot, or green in your case, Scott Jedlinski is your guy. He has a YouTube channel under Modern Samurai Project. He doesn’t post too much but if you search his name plus 1911 Syndicate or Jim Goons life he basically let them put his entire class on YouTube.

Edit…James Yaeger also went through his class and posted up a good video.

Edit #2…I may be spreading Fuddlore but I’d rather not have any question about functionality should I need to use my pistol in self defense. Defensive ammo is hella spendy but some pistols are finicky about some hollow points. It’s typically a good idea to run a magazine of your HP’s to make sure they cycle.

I finally got to the range this evening to put about 150 rounds through my “blemished” Staccato C2.

Fucking love this one too. It’s a freakin tack driver. I’m going to switch the red fiber optic sight that came from Staccato for the green though.

where did you get your stoccato? Assuming the "blemished" was discounted? I have a buddy looking for a stoccato and if they have more I'll point him in that direction

I got this in an email from them. I registered my Staccato P when I bought it and I guess I got on their mailing list.
There's also a link to the C2's, but they're all sold out.

I also am a member of their Heroes program and THIS is where it gets super fun.....I got the blemished discount price PLUS my Heroes discount.

I wasn't actually going to buy the C2 now....it was kind of a 2024 shopping list item...but at THIS price...it was 2024 for long enough for me to fill in my CC on the form and enter the FFL information. And the FFL got the gun in about 4 days.

Agree. Some basic instruction from people who know what they are doing made light years difference with me shooting. Whether handgun, rifle, X-bow, etc I’m fortunate to be around some seasoned and competition / ex (well trained) military. They are patient with me and I listen. The sun of the whole of all the little things is what I always remind myself of. Great job and you’ll be happy with that gun. Only advice I was given and I go way overboard with my custom shit is make sure the gun works in your hand or you adjust to it. Biggest little part of the sun for me is always trigger. Probably part mental too but I like triggers a certain way due to way too many hockey fights and broken fingers that don’t like to move as freely as they should. Keep at it!

Shot with the holosun 407K today.....Sure is easier/better with it.
This at 10 yds once I felt like I was as zeroed in as I was gonna get...

    Ran 350 rounds so far.

Next is a carry gun....I know there are so many to choose from...Don't really want a micro/subcompact, or do I?

    Canik SC Elite
    Walther PDP F series
    Sig 365 X macro
    S&W MP9 shield

There is definitely more 'concentration' involved than I thought. I guess since it's just not second nature to me....Pulling your shotgun up to shoot at a rabbit haulin' ass doesn't take much concentration and trigger control. That's the extent of my experience...rabbit/squirrel/deer hunting for 15 yrs of my life, but haven't owned a gun in 20 yrs.

Gotta remind myself to breathe, or hold my breath, hold the gun firmly, ease the trigger straight back and don't pull at an angle of sorts. The other thing that happens is if i aim too long, shit gets blurry, double vision kicks in, my eyes cross and I gotta start over. lol.

  13. Sum of the whole :) lately I’ve been doing a lot more “situational” shooting. Not training in some navy seal cqb set up but more of “bad guys not going to wait for me to steady my breathing. After a lot of effort and some coaching I’m a heck of a lot better of a shot than I thought I was. I’ll set up the GoPro once in a while as well. I don’t get crazy with it but I’d rather be prepared than not. My buddies who don’t run from target to target steered me very clear of that and just had the equivalent of a starting workout plan. Stuff like taking a few steps back then so what you are forced to do. Turning left, right, etc. By no means is this tactical swat team shit just a step beyond the range. Muscle memory is a crazy thing. No idea what would happen with adrenaline pegged, like to think I’d do the correct thing (all around) but until you are in that situation you don’t know. I take carrying very seriously as it has a huge responsibility with it. Read way too many news articles people pulling out their weapon and either had no real intention of using it in defense, were not prepared or froze up.
Keep at it, the internal competition gets quite fun and some as you get better it’s very rewarding. I still shoot a pellet gun every night weather is decent. Nothing fancy but hopped up Gamo’s but with the inaccuracy in those you need to have it together.
My kids college fund, I mean night time coyote / hog rig basically shoots itself compared to a handgun. Heck don’t even have to adjust for wind or elevation if ya feed it some info :) I’ll be in about 330a to try to get a couple before I head to the office. They are f ing up my deer season.

I love finding stuff like this. With these higher tier companies, the "blem" is usually less than the wear I'll put on it in its first range trip or even better, sometimes it's literally damaged packaging.

I’ve received blems from many different companies over the last few years for my customers and often you can’t find it and when you can it’s exactly what you’re saying. If it’s a shooter it’s going to get wear and dings. Look how many non shooting collector guns have “safe dings” in their description. Most of my firearms are tools. They get used but not abused.

My dislike for Staticco and Alchemy is well documented here.
For $980 you could have gotten a Colt 1911 Competition in stainless, a Falco belt, Comfort model holster and a 2 magazine holder for the belt from Craft. You’d have money for about 1500 round of .45 acp FMJ left over. You’ll be able to get you money out of the Colt unlike the Static-co and you’d be able conceal carry the Colt because it’s not as wide as rappers baby-mommas ass like the Staticco is.
    Just say’n

Yep. And I’ve shot 1911s and hated everything about it. I hate the narrowness of it. I hate 8 rounds and I hate .45.

so rather than piss away $1000 for a piece of shit I hate. I spent more for something I love.

And it’s also well documented here you’ve never shot a Staccato. So your opinion has absolutely no merit or value.

Didn’t you also try to piss on pizza actually made in Italy too? Do you know how dumb you are? Were you raised in Baltimore and educated in their school system or something?

I didn’t really care. If you cannot spell for shit. It kind of proves my point about your education.
