modern vespa people and their silly chrome racks & windscreens. Hard to see in the pictures if it has the brown master fob... if not good luck obtaining that.
Got it back from the shop Friday. All they did was ultrasonic the carb and tune it up, it purrs like a kitten. I rode it without the sidecar to get a feel and then hooked up the sidecar. It's fairly terrifying to ride, and I race an RD! No way in hell my daughter can ride this thing. My wife actually rode monkey with me yesterday. My son thought it was hilarious. I went on a vintage Vespa site to see if any of them could identify exactly what I've got and one guy found it. This it it, except mine is a 68.
Man there are a lot of auction websites. I got excited at the price until I realized the auction hasn’t opened yet
Here's another one. I think this is going to go for more than I feel like spending. Already have two matching ET2's. https://www.proxibid.com/Collector-...th-sidecar-T/lotInformation/77017212#topoflot
At 30 without the sidecar it was weaving all over the place. With the sidecar (and it's my first time on a hack) the left turn pull under braking threw me off. But I rode it again today and I'm getting the hang of it. It's dumb fun once you figure it out.
Sidecars are really odd the first few times you ride them. I had a customer that had CB 550 with a sidecar and when he brought it to me it was all out of line so that made it even worse. Once lined up correctly it was better but still very strange for a "new to sidecars" rider. Very strange to lose the counter steering and to have the difference between right and left turns.....fun though.
Clearly the best solution is to ride on two wheels instead of 3. As Mr Jason Statham can demonstrate.
Ha! I took my daughter for a ride and she asked when we were going to lift a wheel. She gave it a go...stalled first try then gave it too much gas second time. She's going to try again when she's more focused. Of course she had to do her best Audrey Hepburn impersonation.
Yeah. She's claimed that. If you and the wife want either of the ones for sale up here...I can deliver for some gas money and bourbon.
I took it over to my sons garage 6 weeks ago because I was running out of room, and now I can't keep them off the damn thing. He's got a 1098 that just sits because he's always riding the Vespa. They take it all around Louisville having the time of their lives. My daughter is actually getting better at riding it. Who knew a goofy ass scooter could be so fun!
