What about the people who resent it the most?

We had a vendor do our inclusion and diversity training. During the course we had breakout sessions. I got a call from HR cause I refused to include my pronouns when I introduced myself. I made it through 56 years without having to tell anyone I’m a dude and told them I’m not starting now. The call wasn’t as I expected. They ‘just wanted to check on me because no one should be forced into doing anything they aren’t comfortable with’. Told them ‘uh…yeah..I’m sure I’ll be just fine’.

I hadnt really tracked the metric but in the 5 years at my current position HR has cleaned out alot of the old deadwood after a 2019 Zoom meeting. There are still some rotten apples but thats because management doesnt utilize the resources appropriately.

This is how I’ve seen it handled in my part of the oilfield. Several times a year you notice a dude is just gone. WTF happened to Bob? HR escorted him out. Never really get details but assume there is just cause or there would be all kinds of legal recourse.

This mandatory training is there to define the limits. It’s left up to you to decide how close to operate.

Lol. Or at least that is what the zero value added twits who come up with that stupid shit think. They need to do something to show their bosses that they are productive so they trip over each other to make up morale and productivity sapping bullshit that trends whatever way public opinion is going at the time. Shit like Diversity and Sensitivity training just indicate that a company has a bunch of people who are sitting around looking for something to do...

Nope. Path of least resistance. I do their dumb assed courses and move on with my day knowing that I will never get that time back.
It has been quite a while since I hurt someones feelings so I do not think I am even on HR's radar at this time.

That time of year is always fun in the executive meetings - the ones that we don't invite the VPHR to.
Discussing how much money it costs in time lost. Not just the actual time the employees pretend to care about what they are taking, but how it hurts morale and pushes back all the projects that actually benefit the company.
Nobody likes them. Other than the HR team.

Our yearly training consists of an online coarse. It probably takes 15 minutes to click through it and then answer the common sense questions. It seems most bigger companies probably have something similar.
A few years back one of the technicians here thought it would funny to whip it out in front of the new guy. New Guy was on his knees doing his work when Mr. Wang tapped him on the shoulder. New Guy didn't find the humor in it and reported it. Mr. Wang got fired. Then to top the stupidity Mr. Wang's buddy started harassing New Guy for reporting the incident. Yeah, the buddy was the next guy to get fired.

That "incident" sounds like a slow Tuesday in the engineroom of a carrier.

At least, back in my day.

    Grumble, grumble, whippersnappers, grumble, grumble.

In that setting with a bunch of guys you know I would expect that to happen also.

This is one I have never understood. Why would anyone want to pull their dick out and show it to other guys?

There may be some guys here that could answer that one for you.

Quite a while back I worked with a guy that would do that. He thought it was really funny until someone swatted his dick with a leather glove. He stopped taking his dick out after that. Apparently it was quite painful.

I kinda miss the days where stuff was handled on the jobsite and people did not feel the need to run to HR and tell on people...

Best job I ever had was as a contractor after I retired. I didn't have to go to any of the BS training because I was easy to fire for any reason. Anyways, the company passed out boxes of multi-colored paperclips as a diversity gadget. When all the company guys I worked with had to go to the mandatory training I filched their paperclips, made a very long chain and draped them all over the office. I mean you couldn't walk, sit, or chew gum without running into them.......Of course I couldn't admit to the crime.....:D

It takes a real lack of common sense to think it's a good idea to whip your dick out at work.
The motivation for the act is also highly questionable.

My pronoun is 'all hail the ruling unicorn of supremacy' If you got to go to HR at least have fun with it. Oh and if the drone complains that is not real and you are just making stuff up....."wow that is pretty hateful"
