I was putting up the beach last evening going 2 over with cruise control on and a Mercedes comes up on me and I see he wants to pass (2 lane rd). I get to the right a little, he waits for a passing zone and goes around me. At the same time I look in my rear view and there's a truck coming up on me @ about 100mph in a 50. He turns on these strobe lights that are at the top of his windshield and swerves and barely misses me. He gets back in the lane and I guess the MB see's the lights and slows down to get off the road and the truck slams on the brakes and skids 100' and barely misses the MB. Could have easily been bad. Well, He must have shit himself because he got behind another car and didn't pass.
Ironically he was going the same place I was and I got the tag #. He backed into a parking spot , I pulled up to him and you could see all these lights and several dash cams. Dude was trying to act like the cops and scare or intimidate people.

On my way home He was pulled over with 3 cop cars behind him.

I occasionally drive stupid, but I do it when there aren't any other cars or peeps around that could be affected by My stupidity.

comfort breaking the law - not very. comfort in driving above the posted limit - quite! 70 here gets you nowhere. heading to vegas 95 or so lol. i am usually 80+. now side streets etc, not so much. time/place/traffic etc obviously matters most.

Same. There's one about 5 minutes from the house in a pretty tight intersection that was existing and the center is more of a raised speed bump. If there's no traffic, I just drive straight over the thing. Lol

If you like roundabouts, you're going to love diverging diamond interchanges. Especially when the highway department finishes fine tuning it. One north of Phx on I17 replaced two stoplights on either end of the overpass with, I dunno, 8 or 10 lights. Now you're lucky if you don't have to wait on 3 lights just getting across the overpass.

We have a bunch of those stupid diverging diamond freeway interchanges out this way. They are a solution looking for a problem that doesn't exist.

I was in ft Myers for work a few weeks ago. Their road engineers are some extra type of regards. To go onto the highway from hotel, I used to make a left at the light, go to right lane and merge on the highway. Now, I have a right turn only, no turn on red. Sir there like an idiot, it turns green, then 300’ down the road I have a u turn lane only, once again no turning on red. So wait for that mother fucking light, THENypire back to that original intersection…no, fuck you, wait at that red light as well…..I counted it. 8 minutes to drive 300 yards….fuck you Florida road engineers. I wait 8 min to not even GET to the divergent diamond or whatever that I don’t even use.

    Fucking morons.

the irony here... like trying to sell a used 8 year old low mileage econobox appliance and potential buyers are horrified it has no backup camera.

Since no one else wants to say it, it's only getting caught that's really an issue.

  18. Depends. Hwy is flow of traffic usually in line with speed in left lane - years of driving in Germany have me programmed pretty damn well to know what lane to be in and when. Back roads - usually 10-15 over depending on road and area. Times I’m doing the speed limit if I’m coming up on a few houses out in the country that have somewhat blind drives. School zones- always under 10 over. 1. It makes senses 2 They don’t play around here, 11 over will get you a ticket depending on flow of traffic. Bottom line is I try to keep it under 20 over in Ga and I am a pretty alert and driver looking what’s going on around me.
