Assuming we are dealing with something less than a 600, we would make the effort to run a spec class with Wera. Obviously, the more advance notice we had on what that class would be, the bigger the likely grids.
Kawi sells more of their Ninjettes than any other model, and it's been their sales leader for years. Seems like a no-brainer. -jim
Exactly - it's a no brainer that they wouldn't do a spec class for it. They don't do contingency for the same reason, waste of money to advertise something you can't keep in stock.
Can't announce anything until a deal is signed and nothing close just yet. Trust me, I'll put the word out as soon as I possibly can.
Never thought about it like that, makes sense though. Serious question, what criteria is used to create a spec class like this?
Saw an article today that icon is building a spec kaw 300 to sell, calling it a zx3rr, like the idea but it looks more like a fashion statement the a legitimate race bike.
ZX3rr is pretty but a properly put together Ninja300 will beat the pants off of it. zx3 has heavy rotors, heavy forks, heavy swing arm, looks like 4 ex canisters, more weight. It's pretty but on these bikes, you try to take weight, off the bike. A true spec series of these might be interesting. I don't think Kawi would pony up the money for it.
Hey, just 'cause you chickened out racing against them at NOLA earlier this year doesn't mean they're any less of a race bike. Draik would ask for a re-match but he didn't even get a match to begin with.
