Do these bikes that come with the stupid ass winglets make them removable or are they part of the fairing?
honestly this is the most disappointing part of any changes of the last 20 years to me. i can live with wings and whatever swingarms and shit. i want dry clutch in my life. (also, i think a brushed alum tank would go a long way on this new one. probably on an R version i assume... i guess? i dunno)
+1. It is a good-looking race bike. Like Seinfeld's two-face girlfriend. You don't want to wake up to it in street clothes.
The announcers said during the race that they are part of the fairing and not an add-on/removable. At least that’s what they said.
They probably benefit the V4's handling with additional downforce, so they're functional. In the side photos, you can definitely see the influence the of the MotoGP bike in this design. The failure is in the aesthetics of the bodywork....the previous V4 generation looked better because there' some contrast in the color scheme in that generation. This is just one big red blob. To me the previous bike looked fast sitting still...this just lacks that character.
If you watch the video they show some close up views and it looks like they are removable on this bike, but you would need "cover plates" to make it look kind of decent.
I'm having a hard time digesting the aesthetics as an alarming amount of character has been shaved in the name of science.
I think bike looks pretty awesome in race trim. Lots more chassis flex and a way stiffer swingarm. Pretty cool updated data logger with telemetry from 2D. Bike is narrower for the rider. Pegs moved in about 1/2” per side, tank shape is better for anchoring legs. All you aero freaks are going to have a place to rest your chin while tucked…lol (that didn’t sound so good). All things considered, looks like a much better bike overall. I’ll ride it…
