"That dude needs a superbike to win a 600 race" Jokes aside, everything Stanboli said was true. Herrin is too focused on saying and doing dumb shit to get likes on instagram whereas Stanboli is out there solely to compete and win. Stanboli's trophy cabinet as a pro team owner is a lot more impressive than Herrin's as a pro rider.
The entry of MA and the addition of more top notch riders (like Gagne and Peterson to name just two) and teams (like Stanboli’s to name just one) plus other strong riders and teams in Baggers, Twins, and Hooligans or whatever they call it brought me back to watching all the Daytona races, something I haven’t done since the end of Superbike’s there. Lots of talent and a great and diverse show brings back a lot of buzz around the Daytona road races. That’s great I think, a much better show than it’s been in years.
Top 2 takeaways Greg-o-pedia Herrin doesn't know shit I've never heard Stanboli before but holy crap I love this guy. It's like Mavros but in English
I think Herrin might be the victim of his own success. He's put himself out there so it makes him a easy target. Stamboli doesn't mince words, that it for sure. The Eslick comments were hilarious as well. 'Slick is a legend.
Social Media Pays. Women can pay their mortgage for a year by showing their bum for 5 seconds. Josh addi g OnlyFans to his sponsor group tells you all you need to know. Agree or disagree with his antics, Josh's tomfoolery/wheelies bring traffic to his page. If you care about business, that's what you want. If he could mellow a little bit, he could be the John Daly of roadracing. I love Stanboli, but it's easy to see why he and Herrin go about things differently....
Just a guess on my part really. Josh is on here he rode for Yamaha a couple times so he would know the salary past and present. I do know you can make 6+ figures commonly with a good following on social media and youtube. so the question is how much is Yamaha paying cam and Jake?
All you guys need is a few Harrington/Weichel and throw in some Gill memories, if only for the comedy of turn 1 Branierd consequences stories, for a full spectrum 4&6 experience... you giys are old!
Social media doesn’t pay as well as most people think. You got a million subs, then maybe. But, there are people out there with 100k subs that are making very little. Now, women who have a lot of Patreon support may do what you claim. As far Only Fans, unless your basically doing porn, you ain’t making big bucks. Herrin ain’t built to make big money there.
It pays better you think if you treat it as a job. Also it's not like we're comparing social media to a nfl player contract, this is the same organization that Bobby Fong couldn't get paid anything, so I doubt the Yamaha guys are making 200k each anymore
I believe Josh said in one of his recent YT video's that Youtube will pay him more than his Warhorse ride does this year, that he has "no money put aside for later in life - I'm broke, I'm a racer not a banker..." or something to that effect, and that his pal Nick who makes his video's has been doing it for practically free so he hopes with Dunlop on board as a sponsor that he can generate enough views to actually pay him something this year. I'd guess Gagne is making 4-5 times Josh, CP I'm not sure but likely a heavily incentivized salary based on wins/podiums. As for Stanboli - I cringe every time I listen to those video's as he's just too damn abrasive for my tastes. Shitting on everyone, holier than thou attitude, and even in this video he talked about Terry Vance and instead of saying "yeah I waited to talk to him as he's an old pal, or I respect what he's done" he simply said "Man, he's gotten OLD!". He comes off as textbook ASD (autism) with a side of Savant Syndrom - my daughter has autism and has Stanboli's "call it like it is" way about her which is cringeworthy yet cute as hell coming from her teenage brain. On a 50+ year old seasoned media professional, it's a little off-putting.
