Anyone feel this crypto thing will end up like the .com bust? I still remember in the late 90's where you could invest in almost ANY tech company and make a sh*t ton of money. Then it all came crashing down to reality. The strong players were still there, but with a more realistic #, and all the phonies went belly up.

Well it has to go up and down and up and down before you get your reward...

The in's and out's of this is all very complicated.

I feel this one will be a real big windfall for the blue collar working class man. The plumbers, electricians, pizza delivery guys.

I'm curious about whether there is a requirement for reporting on $10k or more crypto like there is on $10k+ cash.

Anyone factually KNOW yay or nay?

Yes, and some dinosaurs will eventually fade. Bitcoin is the Xerox of this segment. There is a ton of utility in CC surrounded by completely idiotic coins that have no place.

I'm sticking mostly with Eth and Cardano. Still buy a few others here and there but nothing serious.

I would imagine that if you are converting Crypto into a bank deposit, then the bank would have the standard reporting requirements.
I don't KNOW, but that would be my guess.

I wasn't clear on the question... If you purchase $10k+ worth of goods/services, would there be a reporting requirement?

Transferring US dollars to a bank, yeah, I'd reckon there'd be reporting.

But if you buy, say 50k worth of gold bullion from JMBullion are they required to report that?

Purely hypothetical, mindewe... I wasn't smart (?) enough to acquire 50k worth of any crypto.

No ideas on this one for you.
Maybe you should just but $50K worth of gift cards. :p

Do it with the right card (Chase) at the right place (Staples) will result in an instant 5% ROI.

That's $2500, in the event you can't do the math. ;--)
