They asked the foreign government to investigate what a company based in that country did or did not do. I am still lost as to why this bothers anyone at all, shouldn't the Democrats be ecstatic that a full investigation will show Biden did nothing remotely wrong?

No, treason in and of itself is not a crime. It is merely betrayal. Same for being a traitor. Still don't see what decorations have to do with anything.

Yep, I think it probably would. Well, I think Trump would have done the same thing, not sure on the Dems as a whole.

Considering it's an inquiry and not real hearings I'd bet all kinds of due process but the main one I see mentioned is the ability to confront his accuser(s). He is also the direct focus of this inquiry but has no ability to directly question any of the witnesses. It's a show and mot remotely due process.

Yes. It can be a crime but in and of itself as a word used to describe people and actions it is not just a criminal offense.

Biden was the only one bragging in a speech about how he made the Ukraine do what he wanted by withholding money...

In all other contexts I can think of, people use the word "betrayal."

Eh, probably from me reading too much. People can be treasonous to others in all sorts of ways. Same for traitorous, and yeah all it comes down to is betrayal.

Wasn't the "inquiry" all the secret stuff behind closed doors? I thought they had moved to official (for lack of a better word) impeachment proceedings when they decided to have public hearings.

I think it is all still an inquiry. However none of the media I've seen likes to say the word inquiry so they keep calling them impeachment hearings and slide in the inquiry portion when you're not really paying attention any more :D

That should be easy I stopped paying attention to a long time ago.

It's basically the same thing they were doing behind closed doors, which was never voted on by the house, by the way. They voted to move the "inquiry" into public...and I'd be willing to bet regret it at this point.

Bottom line, what ever you want to call this wasting thousands of hours and millions of dollars. The election will be here before these paid by us knuckle heads could actually do something in court. Trump will win and the hamster wheel will start allover. Just quit my job because it was based out of here more than I was told. But did you guys see the yacht fire in FLL. Our boat was next to them, lucky we were up wind! 20191119_171313_resized (1).jpg

And people say you’re not very smart. You should run for public office as you seem to grasp Article III of the US Constitution better than most of Congress and most of the media:D

You suck at motorcycle road racing planning and management though. :D

It is still an inquiry and since the process is not defined in the Constitution, you could easily liken it to an investigation or a Grand Jury, where the defense isn't present and doesn't get to tell their side of the story. The trial and trial rules happen in the Senate with the Chief Justice of the SCOTUS presiding. You may not like it but there isn't anything unconstitutional about it.

With that said, the inquiry is not level. What questions can be asked is limited. What witnesses can be called is limited. Schiff on Friday gave a speech to end the session with no similar time being given to the Republicans.

I'm beginning to think he did it intentionally, knowing that people he didn't trust were listening in on the call in the hopes that something like this would happen.

First off, he said "Can you do us a favor". He didn't say me, he said us, as in the United States.

If Biden was completely on the up and up (which only an idiot would believe he was), an investigation into Biden would lead no where. By claiming Trump wanted dirt on Biden (it was okay when Hillary bought a dossier) they are verifying that there is dirt on Biden. This whole theater works two fold for the socialists. They get rid of grumpy Joe while trying to say they are protecting him, and they get their MSM sound bites on the air.

Furthermore, if a presidential candidate was involved in overseas corruption, wouldn't you like to know about it? Why is Biden exempt from this?
