Maybe more compelling than weed causing hallucinations is the correlation between many young individuals first psychotic break and marijuana. Its not in any way believed (now at least) to be linked to causing psychosis, but there is a correlation between pot use and a psychotic break. He's a few years too old to be in the sweet spot I believe, but still more likely to me than hallucinogenic weed making him remove demons.

 

I'd still rather take my chances on a doper than a drunk.
