so that's where the motogp budget went to? Wonder if they've got a fully faired version coming out to challenge the RS660 and R7?

I love my GSA but it's really overkill for what I do. Plus she's a big girl. The brand new Transalp and 800 Vstrom have got my attention, with the Suzuki slightly better for my duty. I'm going to give this bike a long, hard look. I know, this is about the GSX-8, but it's basically the same (but different:D).

  4. I am more excited about the possibility of a 2023 BMW S-750 RR.

I have always though the Gixxer 750 was an awesome bike, but Suzuki basically hasn't done fuckall with it since like 2006 or some shit. A modern one from BMW should be awesome.

This is more of a LW twins bike.

    Nope.... Never ran CCS

Look at power and weight of bike it really fits into the LW twins class. The Aprilia and R7 are making big power.

I know time marches on, but jumping to 800cc's in a ""LW" class bike is a bit much.

Not as bad as the Strom version... Worse problem is the name that doesn't exactly roll off the tongue- I cringe when people ask "what Suzuki did you have again?" and I have to very carefully enunciate "G-S-X-S-1000"

Yea, I think these days it is hard to have a hard stop on CC limit. It really comes down to what the bike is and what class it fits into.

The RS660 makes 90+ HP with pipe and flash.
R7’s are at 90Hp with mild motor work.
Both RS660's and R7 are 100+ with MA spec motors.

I'm going to be calling the "ADV" version the P-Strom, because it's a parallel twin, not a v-twin. I've already seen a report saying the ADV bike makes more power than the nekid bike. That's going to be fun.

So much for a company getting out of the motorcycle business, lol

The silliness of this V-Strom 800 parallel twin is the 650 is a better engine. The shame of the 650 is Suzuki did nothing with it. They produced a generation, then, left it alone. They could’ve done a 21” wheel model, electronic cruise control, TFT, electronics suite, and any number of other things to keep the model progressing. For sure, I would’ve bought one, instead of my 800XCx, as I had an SV and absolutely love that engine. But, no electronic cruise control to ease my neuropathy was a deal breaker.

Have you rode the KTM 890's? That motor is silly fun in the Adventure R.

The wet weight is pretty bad at 445 lbs.
I think that is 13 more than the SV650.
