I got a Sirius trial when I got the new to me car. Reception on the satellite was crap any time you were under a canopy of trees. I let it lapse.
Loaded question, but it depends on my mood, and who's in the car. It sounds cliche, but I do listen most any type of music. My favorite things about satellite radio are the replay, and the notification functions.
I don’t mean to Jack your thread. I’ve seen a couple of Sat. radio threads here as was uninterested. I recently had the opportunity to use Sat Radio and I’m now hooked. I would pay for this service!
My favorite channels are: 7- 70s 8- 80s 25- Classic Rock 26- Classic Rock 33- Classic Alternative 34- Lithium 38- Ozzy's Boneyard 39- Hair Nation 41- Turbo 114- Fox News 125- Patriot 127- Progress* (*I like to call in to the progressive shows and say things that I know will get the Libs all lathered up and then I sit back and enjoy the next dozen callers or so, saying what a POS I am, lol!)
#metoo I thought it would be useful when we were up in Vermont where the few stations you can get eat the hairy wazoo and you lose them after 10 minutes anyway. Between mountains and trees, the sat signal was cutting out way too often.
In my travels I generally don't have reception problems except for two locations: I-40 EB near mile 74 (in the right lane) and about 5 miles each side of Nantahala Outdoor Center. In each instance I just replay the last 15-30 minutes until reception returns.
Depends on mood, but, most listened to are: The Highway Y2Kountry The Joint ESPN Radio Fox News Will occasionally get a small dose of 80s, 90s, Margaritaville, No Shoes Radio, Bluegrass Junction, Lithium, and Boneyard.
23 - Grateful Dead 59 - Willie's Roadhouse 62 - Bluegrass Junction 9 - Nineties on 9 Now it's more GD than WR, but for a good long stretch it was more WR. BJ sucks, pardon the pun. Used to be much better; same with classical channel. I put a reminder on my calendar the week before my subscription is up, and tell them I'm only interested in paying whatever it is I pay (something like $10/month). I have no doubt that people pay less (and I know some pay way more), but I think I certainly get $120 worth of enjoyment per year.
if you listen long enough to the same station you realize it's programming is run on a loop. When I realized that, I could care less about Sat Radio. Actually HD radio's fidelity is head and shoulder's above Sirius radio.
