Huh? And since Pirelli makes 100 and 120 sized front rains along with 140, 160, 190 sized rear rains I don't think your statement is accurate
not sizing availability, from what i see in the pits. it's simply a recommendation from the first post that asked that question. now i'm waiting for someone to say "dunlops are good enough for Moto America riders" or some BS.
Guess the racers at NHMS, NJMP, VIR, Summit, Daytona, Autobahn, Blackhawk, Road America, and CMP dont know as much as what you've seen. Carry on.
Pick up a set from the best tire vendor that attends the events you attend (assuming you have a choice of vendors at the events you attend). The fact you are asking this question probably means you are not a front running expert, so any of the rain tires should work well enough for your purposes. If you don't have a tire vendor, get one even if they are not at the events you attend. I started used MDM (Northeast vendor for Pirelli) when I had to do the tire vendor thing by email, but now I am glad he has a rep at most of my track day events.
Pirelli. But I've only ever used Pirellis in the rain, haven't tried the other brands. I'm sure they're all good, after all "Dunlops are good enough for MA racers right?!" ...but I know from personal experience that the Pirellis work great.
Then we're your local Pirelli vendor. Feel free to email me at [email protected] or call the shop at 610.833.8271 and I can answer any questions you have about rain tires.
It does matter quite a bit because Brand X & Y don't offer a full range of rain sizes like my former employer does with respect to all
This got me thinking. The racetracks that I haven't been to in the US are CMP, Autobahn, Hallett, NYST, Hastings M/S Park, and the two in New Mexico. In Canada I haven't been to Calabogie, Gimli, and Castrol M/S Park. Otherwise been there and blew out my ears standing at hot pit with no ear protection for way to many years.
