PRAYER REQUEST (CANCER REALLY SUCKS)

My Mom’s husband died last night only 30 days after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He was 88, mom is 80. She is devastated. Request prayers for her, they were the cute elderly couple you hope you’ll be a part of one day. Cancer really REALLY sucks.

Thanks everyone. To hear my mom sob with such emotion and pain just breaks my heart. She asks me, “what am I going to do, he was my best friend”. I don’t have a good answer yet. Fuck cancer!

Im so sorry for Stan,and Brad.I will pray for both of your mothers.
My Aunt who I lived with during a difficult time is battling right now too.
She beat it the first time,and its back again,Ive been ashamed for not calling her more.
I don't know what to say anymore,and she doesn't do anything,but keep getting back up.
I only wish I was half as strong as her.Enjoy every day with your loved ones.

Take it one day at a time. Going through it with my M-I-L now. Her husband passed in March. Just be there. Make her stay active (after a few days). PM if you need to.

 

He is not gone, he still exists. She can still talk to him, he just can't respond in a way she is accostomed to. She can feel his influence in other ways when she most needs it. Also, she is not alone. There are support groups for loss.

@StanTheMan Prayers and love heading for you and your mom. Hearing my mom wake up in the middle of the night sobbing in the weeks after my dad passed was heart-wrenching, so I share a similar experience.
