Look at that...an engine you can see and not just two really expensive computer case fans like the current gen cars.
The 356RSR was built by Rod Emory. His dad is Gary Emory, and they have spent their lives working on Porsches, and saving them. I don't know what his "donor car" started as, but Rods's Socal shop has likely saved more 356s from the scrap heap (or unfortunate mods) than everyone else combined.
IMS bearing is so blown out of proportion its beyond funny and at the extremely annoying point. Later air cooled 911's are all the money. Lots of lots of money. 996's are the bargin 911's, because everyone who doesn't know them goes on the internet and reads "IMS bearing failure!!!!!!" 997's are the bee's knee's, and 991's are when they started lossing the mojo.
996’s are mainly a bargain because they are so god-awful ugly! Agreed 997’s are the best water pumpers, but I think the 991’s are better looking. Too much like a GT car however.
No more so than the car in the original post. But if it is in fact a factory reproduction is it still a kit car? Aren't those cars you build at home from a box full of parts?
well same idea. they rebuilt something out of a bunch of parts that once was, right? isn't the OP car some customized beetle?
Computer case fans or not, the amount of performance Porsche is coaxing out of these things today is unbelievable. The cars are sooooo good, and get better with every new iteration.
