My First Race was. . .

Shannonville Pro Track circuit, 2002, SV650. I finished 7th out of 21 bikes.


When was your last race? If you did track days for 25 years that's gotta be some sort of record.

 

99 Roebling, 92 F2

 

Faurskov Verynational Raceway, Denmark. 1990 on a Honda NSR80. I don't remember where I finished but with 29 sec laptimes I probably got lapped.

 

First dirt bike 1969 harescramble.

First roadrace 1972, 24hr Nelson Ledges 500 Kaw tripple H1. Finished 3 in class. Rode 16 1/5 hours my self.

 

February 2007, Willow Springs, TZ250, finished second in WSMC 250cc Grand Prix. Last win was some time in 2006 at Willow, a solo GTL 20-lapper on the TZ.

First O/A endurance win was with WERA at Bridgehampton in 1981, rained 3 out of 4 hours, on a Moriwaki F1 bike with a GS1100 engine.

 

First 24-hour overall win was at Willow in 1984. Second 24-hour overall win was at Nelson in 1984. Moriwaki with GS1150 engine.

 

Talladega may 98' kawasaki h2.

Major transmission problem caused high-side going into bowl in ccw direction, 4th lap, leading my very first race. Had just got past a John Deer green Honda on the brakes the lap before for the lead.....

After trip to hospital with concussion, and 2 weeks of my life that I don't remember, I returned to race again.

 

1998 Nelson Ledges on a stock FJ600 smilin' ear to ear.

Roebling in the Rain 2001 because I didn't know any better. Dumb luck and attrition got me 10th on DOT's.

Forgot my key, missed practice, late to the grid, started race from pit lane.
I always triple check that I have my key now.

Bike died on pit lane when the Solo was over. Ran VP on Sunday and it was

a little better. Stripped the carbs when I got home.

Should have been
138-140 main
17 pilot
middle clip on needles
2.5 turns on air screw

Actually had
152.5 mains
15 pilot
one needle clip on top, the other second from bottom
one air screw 2 turns, the other 6 turns

The carbs were the only thing I didn't rebuild before I raced it.
