Good because out 18 races they were on the podium 7 times. That's roughly 39% of all the races. pretty strange how 39% of races are podiumed by those teams would cause some one to laugh and shit.

You don't think he's doing it just because he loves to race? I'm sure some of it is that he wants to show everyone that he's not done yet.

I just think hes fueling his ego, honesty. Trying to do something a bit special.

The reasonable thing to do would be get healthy 100%, come back and kick ass.

Or maybe like his fans, he's actually delusional and still thinks he's got a shot at the championship.

The whole risk and reward ratio seems out of whack on this deal.

Of course he's trying to do something special. Hell, he's 38, still winning races, podiuming, and until he missed the last race, in the hunt for the championship.

Reasonable isn't what these guys do.

I seem to remember a certain sourpussed spaniard who got his shoulder plated and came back to race.

    Was that ego?

I suspect the only thing more painful than trying to pull off this race would be to sit it out.

I've taken a cast off my hand to play beer leauge softball*. Some guys would just rather do, than watch. If he's fit, and mentally ready, then giver. Too risky? It's motorcycle racing.....it's risky.

*i am in no way comparing the level of manliness required to hit slo pitch dingers with a broken hand to riding a motogp bike with a broken leg . Merely making the comment that some would rather be in the game than watching it.

Brett Favre had the record for touchdowns, and passes attempted, and interceptions... His touchdown record has been beaten, with the attempts and interceptions not even close. Sometimes you have to separate the skill from the longevity.

I'm not saying Rossi isn't a legend, but trying to make the argument against marquez because he is riding in a different time than Rossi, and might decide not to race for 20+years is leaving a little bit out of the equation.

This. How many here have gridded up 1/2 or 3/4 busted up just to have a shot at a cheap assed plastic trophy and bragging rights knowing full well that you are risking further injury and will likely not do well? I am sure not going to throw stones...

All of those stats that start with "youngest or first" are weak arguments.

Maybe MM will end up being in the GOAT discussion at the end of his career. For now, it's just potential.
