I can sure everyone that there was a lot of factory support behind the twins cup project. Can't wait to see the big bike out on the grid
https://www.roadracingworld.com/news/motoamerica-bulgarian-mihail-florov-racing-bmw-in-superbike/ This is good news. More people from outside the country taking an interest in American racing.
Didn’t Alpha run WSBK? Maybe it was the German series? Anyways, cool. Hope he doesn’t suck, MA could use all that Bulgarian cash and sponsors.
Ha, came here to post that link. Also, I saw on IG that Kyle Wyman has recently tested a M1kRR. BMW looking to push harder in MA? It seems they're ramping up their racing effort and investing heavily into the bike.
I just wonder why if BMW was getting more involved in MA why not start with Schiebe? They have a team ready and if Hector stays they have a really good rider.
I think it's more so people are being involved with BMW more in motoamerica, vs BMW as a company being more involved with motoamerica.
BMW has a pretty good contingency program for MotoAmerica. They also have an engineer at all rounds that can help BMW riders. Interesting that Alpha is backing this team up. They make all the aftermarket parts for the beemer (race ECU/Harness)
675R had M4s, 765R has Stylemas. Chassis is the same. I know Richard Stanboli and AP had a lot of success on a 13+ 675R.
That is all going to depend on the sponsor. Some are good, some are tapped given the weird way businesses are going right now. Overall I would think they'd all prefer to take the events happening now and grow them rather than add more.
I want to see wyman do well next season so I really hope he doesn’t ride that BMW - can’t help to think his results will be the same if not worse than on the Ducati.
On the bright side, his brother's been riding one for a couple seasons now...maybe he can share some data.
