We make a rule that if there is ANY crash, we stop the race.

The track crew HAS to inspect the track per insurance regulations.

as far as stopping, that was me. Im kinda in charge of it so it is what it is.

 

Just out of curiosity, whats the ideal motorcycle?

As usual? There isnt anything "usual" about this. So is it normally roadrace bike winning? flat track bikes? Im at work so I cant see the video.

The video shows a paved oval without enough runoff to keep even a motard from hitting the wall.

I'd recommend riding something with a deployed airbag.

We've done a dozen of these races the past year and we've had one guy hit the wall and he walked it off (after rehab)

Look, I'm not here to talk anyone into racing. Every race is dangerous, people get killed from amateur racing all the way to MotoGP. The chance of hitting the wall dead on is pretty slim and we've had one guy do it. As far as flying off the top where there is no wall, I've done that and it didn't hurt at all, there's a lot of bushy grass up there and it goes on a long way.

Opp Alabama has 2 walls, Mobile Alabama has 1 wall. We are racing Saturday night Oct 27th at Mobile International Speedway but I'm assuming most on here will be at the GNFs instead.

The race on the 27th has a large cash pay out and a HUGE crowd.

To the guy asking about gearing... I've podiumed every race so far on my 1000cc but i keep it in 3rd the whole time and never break 8,000 RPMs, but I'm neck and neck with a red lined Motard in 6th gear but each of us are going as fast as we care to...

So far it doesn't seem to matter if you're on a Motard, 600cc, or 1000cc! And the SVs are awesome in this format!!

 

I think the current record is damn near 50/50 for 1st place on Motard vs Sportbike

 

Sounds like fun, kinda like mini bike races at summit point endurance 1:00 in the morning at turn 10.
