BTW, they have very strict sound level restrictions so be sure your bike isn't too loud (max is 98 db @ 2/3 of throttle). My little FZR chimed in @ 105.6db at only 8000 rpm hahaha. Thank god for DBDawgs (they sell those at the track I think) or my track weekend would have been spent in the pits watching my buddies...

 

Good point - last time I was there, many people were improvising ways to quiet down their bikes so they could pass the noise test. I never had an issue with my GSXR-600 with full Hindle system (I think the Canadians gave it a pass because of that... ), but brought along the stock muffler just in case. It would suck to have traveled that distance and spent the $ on the track day and associated costs only to be left sulking in the pits...

I'm trying to remember which NYer rider you might be out of the many I've met. There's the guys that bought some slicks from me, or the guys that had the misquito netting aroung their pop-up tent (good idea), or maybe the guys who were at mosport when I had my last incident . Also the "having a few cold ones" doesn't help me remember either since that's just about the first thing I do when the riding's done if it's hot out.

I haven't booked any trackdays yet this year so it looks like I'm screwed for mosport but I should be at bogie at least twice.

Ya actually the second lap of the "Calabogie July 20 Chasing the french guys" vid on Youtube is a 2:15. Best ever at Calabogie was a 2:14.

Tires were a Power Race med rear and a Dunlop front slick. It's an odd combo but it seemed to work plus I needed to burn up the rest of my supply of front slicks.

Went in 2008 and in 2009 after they changed the paddock a bit. both times was great!! TPm did a pretty good job there in 08 but I must say I was impressed with pro6 last summer. They ran a pretty good event and their lunch that they provided each day was to say the least special! Steak the first day with all kinds of sides, salad and pie for dessert along with drinks. When i first went up for lunch I had thought steaks were maybe for the crew of pro 6 but nope they were for all the riders.

Still was no power in the paddock, we ran generators. The almost doubles the size of the paddock now though with parking on both sides.

 

That looks like a pretty nice track. Looks very technical and a lot of tight corners.

 

That was us! It is a must for summer time nightlife at Bogie!

 

It does have a bunch of technical stuff, but the fast sweepers and kinks (11/15/16/1) are fricking awesome!

 

Renfrew is about 20 minutes away and has a Walmart and everything else that you might want. My son races in the Parts Canada Superbike Series and this is one of his favorite tracks. It is a bummer we aren't racing there this year!

 

250 CAD - $236 US. Yea, that's a but much, but almost all of Pro6's events sold out before July last year. We tried to get a 2-day event in June last year, but all sold out except for a few mid-week single days.

Canadians are a lot nicer too. That alone adds value; less dick moves out there on the track

But year, that is quite a price increase. Lots of new money in Alberta, so i think lots of things are going up in price up there.

 

I've been racing for about 11 years on many different tracks and Bogie is the best I've ever been on (including Barber)! Make sure you're going for minimum 2 days, preferrably 3, cuz day 1 will just be figuring out which way it goes ....... trust me! And like the other guys said, be ready for the sound test.

 

Prices have gone up a ton with Pro6. It looks to me like they are tacking on GST/HST to the track price now, too. Although they have dropped prices a bit, taxes have always been included in the origional track day price. Is Pro6 trying to turn this into a bigger business (LLC) than it already is or something? I love the track and going to Canada, but any higher and they will price me out of there.

Calabogie rules!!!

CMP is phenominal!(Big track, never crowded) Last year pro6(they do offer a great catered lunch btw) days were only 215, so 250 this year is a little rich but once you ride Bogie you won't give the price a second thought. Turn2 . ca not only offers arc classes they also have a controlled riders group this year(crg) 1, 2 and 3 depending on your lap times. You actually go out in groups of 10 with 1 top am or pro racer to give you tips similar to team pro motion days. These days are 220bux. To those deterred by cost I'd suggest you'd be missing out on a great track experience if you were to pass just cuz' of $$$.

Like others metioned the mosquitos are INSANE. My wife and I were in the tent by 7pm each night cuz' they were unbearable! Jockos beach resort has rooms as well as cottages, there is also the calabogie motorinn, both are less than 5 minutes from the track. If your a baller the calabogie peaks resort is pretty pimp with a beach area, pool, moutain biking etc.

That turns out to be around $260 for a trackday. Including gas to get there and back plus dinner, etc. you are looking at a large price. Doubt I am going to make it up there with the price that high.

 

When I think of a technical I think really tight corners not a very fast track. This is a very very fast track. There are tricky corners but no really slow corners on the track.

If you don't count the amenities, I like this track better than barber. It is similar in a lot of way but has long straights, Barber in my opinion is a bit short. You will not regret it.

 

Great to hear from you Davie! I am doing 10 days at Bogie this year, and with the exchange rate and discount it turned out to be $205 a day. I justified it to myself with, "Well, if I rode Barber with NESBA it would be that much, so f*ck it." But yes, there is no f*cking way I will pay much more than that to ride Calabogie, no matter how great a track it is.

What about you, plans for 2010 yet?

PS: A buddy and I are doing Mid-O on June 28-29. You should trailer out!

 

can someone explain the exhaust sound test???

if you have stock headers and slip on (M4).... should it pass ???

... are they really looking to crack down on loud full systems and GP shorty exhaust or do they only pass stock exhausts.

thinking about going this summer.... due to all the great feedback!!!

 

Doing good man, haven't ridden since August of last year so I am dying to get back out there. I checked the exchange rate today and $238.24 CAD is $225 US and that doesn't include the 13% tax they are adding this year so for a weekend including all expenses that would be around $700 so you got a smoking deal.

I could be convinced into heading out to Mid-O for sure I really want to head out to new tracks this year so we should keep in touch.
