Yeah I had read on BARF that a car burned up there at the entrance to the corkscrew and messed up the new asphalt.
Why the F do you spend several SEVERAL dollars on a repave and then not wait for the shtuff to cure (if indeed that’s accurate)?? That’s gonna suck big sacks of balls if they shut it down next weekend.
Most unfortunate, hope they were able to do a nice repair and that reports of other damage elsewhere on the track are overblown.
If they can't race next weekend I think it has to be cancelled right? How can you ask teams to pay to travel back to the west coast at a later time?
Repaves must bring out the bizzare. I remember one of Roebling Roads repaves had a truck break down in 5/6 if I recall and and dump untold amounts of diesel on the surface and damage it? Daytona banking finally gets one and Montoya tried to melt it down. Repaves are bad juju lol.
I read that as they wanted to save the track from further damage prior to the MA weekend. Hopefully those Superbikes lay down a bunch of rubber to get the traction up.
Officially good to go! https://www.roadracingworld.com/news/motoamerica-weathertech-raceway-laguna-seca-confirms-event/
