He comes off as contrived but in a cartoonish sense that it's almost not contrived. I like my roadracers with a side of ego, but I love roadracers with a sense of self awareness.
First test. http://roadracingnews.co.uk/guy-martin-begins-honda-racing-career-at-monteblanco/ I also read he is building a park and school. Presumably for tradesmen. Cool way to use that fame and tv money.
He's done. I'd be surprised if he tries another come back after this season. Way back in the pack at each meeting then the TT disaster. Out of the Southern 100 and now the Ulster. He won't be back. Damn shame, he was one of the best. Racing bicycles and doing tv shows ain't a bad way to make a living! http://www.motorcyclenews.com/sport...ly/roads-guy-martin-out-of-ulster-grand-prix/
It is a shame that the Honda was such a steaming pile of shit that it could even break the spirit of someone like Guy Martin...
He's not done. You'll see him with a ride at TT 2018, and a good ride at that. I couldn't be more disappointed in Honda. For all appearances, they mailed it in with the new bike. Shouldn't be surprising, considering that they were racing a nine year old platform previously. Clearly racing motorcycles is no longer a priority, which is a shame. HRC used to be synonymous with cutting edge.
So he quit. But he didn't quit? Something about four wheels at Pike's Peak. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...turn-bored-isle-of-man-tt-crash-a7860736.html
Sounds like he wants to go have fun, on his own dime or at least under his own control. Cant blame him for that. He's no spring chicken and has survived some good crashes and doesnt trust others at this point, probably.
