Loved these 2 BoB is probably my favorite series of all time on HBO...and Pacific while not quite a good, but also worth a watch if you have time to kill. also HBO and worth a watch if you haven't seen already if of course Chernobyl.
I tried to convince Broome of important this movie is to his life, but he won't hear it. That said… DO YOU DUMB ASSES KNOW WHAT A DOCUMENTARY IS?!
Netflix: I actually enjoyed the 'Hip-Hop Evolution' series. Some of the history is fascinating to me, as a music fan in general. And I'm not a real hip-hop/rap fan. 'Losers' was also interesting to get a full story behind some strange unsung sports people and events. 'Echo in the Canyon' 'Williams' about the Williams family running the F1 team was interesting. Pretty much any of their 'Remastered:' series. 'Bombshell: The Hedy Lamarr Story', interesting woman who lived quite the life. Curious science connection, best explained in the doc. 'A Life of Speed' Covers the life of Juan Manuel Fangio Amazon Prime: 'Hired Gun', about musicians who make a living being hired by known acts to either tour, or do session work. "The Rainbow" about the infamous club in LA, and the family that's run it since the early 60's 'Clive Davis: The Soundtrack of Our Lives', I had no idea what his career had contained. It's a lot!
+1 on The Other One. There are also good docs on Robert Johnson and Paul Butterfield on Amazon. And if you're a nerd, Eye of The Beholder is worth a watch. It's about the history of art in the D&D world.
Your Hired Gun reminded me of 20 Feet From Stardom, about backup singers. Lots of good recommendations!
Anybody watched the one on Willy T Ribbs yet? Also, the Paul Newman one is great! There's a great one on the history of safety in formula 1 called simply "1." It's excellent as well. Ooh, and "When Playboys Ruled the World" or something to that effect. I might have to go search that one right now. Also, Senna.
Cant believe I forgot the climbing ones. Free Solo The Dawn Wall Meru And perhaps the most frightening...Touching the Void. That guy...
Just to clarify -- Touching the Void is a docudrama. A reënactment, if you will. That said, it is awesome and powerful.
Something quick, but kinda fun is 'Fast & Left', about flat track. Mostly club level, but he did shoot some at The Springfield Mile.
No Ordinary Joe - Joey Dunlop Road- Dunlop family PBS Navy SEALs - Their Untold Story Also Redbull TV has hours and hours of docs. I like the ice climbing stuff.
The Trials of Darryl Hunt Icarus Apollo 11 (2019) Blackfish Cartel Land Going Clear: Scientology and the Prison of Belief What's My Name: Muhammad Ali Red Army (2014) Janis: Little Girl Blue Elvis Presley: The Searcher Take Every Wave: The Story of Laird Hamilton Abacus: Small Enough to Jail
"From the Earth To The Moon" , actually, any of the hundred or so shows about the early Space program. Also, while not really a documentary, the show "Connections" with James Burke is a super interesting watch if you can find it.
