I knew a guy that went there. Friend of a friend of a friend, but he shook his girlfriend's baby to death one night because it wouldn't stop crying. He was NOT exactly what you'd call the Alpha Male type. I wonder how stretched out he is, or if he's even still alive. That was ~17-18 years ago... I don't recall what his sentence was, but it was a couple-few decades.
How much really goes down in prison? I know a guy who did 5 years federal prison and according to him unless you are a dumbass you can usually make it with minimal issues. According to him gangbangers, people who deal on the inside, and perverts of various types are the ones who have the major issues. Not some place I ever want to go for sure Now back to the regularly scheduled tomfoolery...
Don't get me wrong but I thought that place was for people who had to be seriously the worst of the worst of the worst. You went there after going to regular max jail and killed a bunch of people or did some shit that would have the people storming the prison to get at you. Still, shook a baby to death? I hope he never gets out.
A supermax prison will usually have a low level prison attached/nearby, that way they've got plenty of manpower to mow the grass, cook, handle trash, etc. Here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Federal_Correctional_Complex,_Florence Florence is actually four prisons
A former coworker of mine did 18 years of hard time, the butt stuff happens quite a lot if you don't watch your back, he said. Rapists and the like are definitely lower class and are dealt with appropriately.
Even with access to books, isolation after a long period will do some messed up things to you mentally.
I'd be ok with isolation. The thought of not seeing anyone I love for 20 years, t'would fook me up. But I'd be ok
I don't know. I search incoming property for contraband and I would say 60% of the books that come in are James Patterson
