What is the best chain breaker and riveting tool out there? I did a search, however most of them are 2 years old just looking for updated gear.

    Thanks

I've got a Motion Pro. Great riveting tool other than the fact that the pins that remove the old old pins from the chain break really easy.

having been thru 2 of the motion pro's, i gotta say, the RK is THE chain tool to have. Ive had mine for 3 years now, and no broken pins. You breath wrong on the motion pro and they break.

RK again. There is no substitute that costs (much) less.

+1 for RK, can get it from one of the retailers, discounted, if you buy a chain kit at the same time.

Is there a model number or can someone throw me up a pic so I can make sure I am getting the right one.

    Thanks

Jumpin' in on the RK Pro band wagon. Works every time, even when hung over.

Same here. Went through multiple pins on the motion pro. Keep that as the "loan at the track" kit, and the RK has been sweet. Bit easier to use, AND stronger all around.

Thanks alot fellas. What does it me when it says this "For chain 520 and up, it is recommended to grind the rivet head"

Again, thanks alot for the knowledge, I really appreciate it.

grind the rivet flush before trying to press it out.
Especially important with the el cheapos since the pot metal they are constructed from is so weak.

it means, before using the tool to "force" the rivet out of the chain, take a small hand held grinder and grind as much of the rivet head off. it will make the tool and pin have to do less work.

i did a 525 without using a grinder, worked fine. just got to be careful.

I think that the Motion Pro jumbo one is pretty damn good. The pin is much more durable than the cheap kits as well. I think that you would really have to screw up to break it.

That is what I went to after using their POS tinker toy regular chain kit that comes in the nice little silver case.

Their jumbo tool is pretty much the same thing as the RK tool.
