He switched parties to run for the NYC Mayor-ship. He is listed as "independent".

Not really. It is just from my perspective from the outside looking in both parties are fucked up. Or maybe it is just me. I can not say that I support either side though. I want limited government, fewer social programs and free shit, equal opportunity for all (the difference being I am smart enough to understand that equal opportunity does not mean equal outcome), secure borders, do not care what people do in their bedroom, do not think businesses should be punished if they do not sell their products to a specific group, do not get offended by God, Allah, Buddah or whatever the hell you believe even though I am a heathen, think government needs to get out of higher education and believe that 2 strokes running leaded race fuel should be mandated at all race tracks. Both political parties are like abusive spouses. The only difference is where they hit us. IMO both political parties have had opportunities to fix the economy and have failed miserably every time. But people keep doing the same thing over and over expecting a different outcome. One party comes in riding a wave of popularity then fucks it up so here comes the other party because people are too stupid and/or short sighted to see back when the group they are rooting for fucked it up. The political system is a mess and needs a hard reboot. Unfortunately the only 2 that have a chance are a billionaire blowhard and a geriatric socialist...

The answer is in your first paragraph.

    1. Men make stupid laws
    2. Gun ownership insures freedom
    3. I don't want the government making stupid laws that abridge 2.

Everything else you listed about cars is great but cars don't protect your rights and they aren't in the Constitution.

Only until someone with a bigger one or more guns show up.

Not related to previous but there is no such thing as a perfect law.

And by the way, please remember to do your prayers diligently tonight, for you have posted on page 69.... :D

You still haven't answered as to how voting for the same thing over and over while expecting different results is working out for you and the country as a whole. Oh yeah no need to answer that since everyone can see the results of those actions, let me know when you have an answer though. How does it work out for you even when the one head of the snake you voted for wins, or when the side you voted for loses? The last two elections you didn't vote for the winner either. Is that your main concern is getting to say that you voting for the winning side? I'll take it then that when the side you vote for wins you support everything they do right or wrong since that is your team. Of course I'm sure they actually give a shit about you or how you feel, just like your favorite sport team does when they win. What am I achieving? I guess nothing when most of the country keeps doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results, at least I know I'm not part of the problem that still thinks that way.

Oh great the good old splitting the vote argument. Got anything else to repeat that you have been told by your favorite politician/news? When I live in Lousyiana I voted for Gary Johnson, your man Romney won the state, yet Obama won the election. Now tell me how my vote help or hurt either of those two candidates you say I should have voted for. I'm sure I'll get another non answer from you on this one too.

You do know that in most states you have to have training and a license to carry a gun in public right. I haven't got a hunting license in a long time, but I think it is law anymore that you have to have some required training to get a hunting license, I know you have to have training to get a ccw. Funny thing is I remember when I was a kid bringing our guns to school in our cars was no big deal, people did it all the time to go hunting before/after school and yet no one got shot. Most/all gun safety training was done at home by the parents, I do remember taking a hunter safety course at school though (voluntarily after hours) even though it wasn't required. Also as far as I know you do not need a drivers license to purchase a vehicle only to drive them on public roads.

In Pa, I walked into the courthouse, gave them my ID, a filled out form, and handed them $20. Walked out with a concealed carry permit 5 minutes later with no mention/question of training.

    That's just wrong.
They shouldn't require any permit at all.
Especially since it serves no legitimate purpose.

In that particular case, probably not much.
What do you think that proves?
Vote-splitting has definitely cost elections in your lifetime.
How did your vote help Gary Johnson?
Hey, if it makes you feel sophisticated to always vote for people who have no chance, have fun.

Still avoiding the questions I see.
It did, do you have proof, or is that just what you were told?
Help him get 2nd loser, just like your vote for Romney/McCain helped them get 1st loser.
There you go again with the worry about being on the winning side, again while avoiding answering any questions I asked you. never said it made me feel sophisticated I said it makes me feel like not being part of the problem like you and many others are. "Lets keep doing the same thing over and over while expecting different results." If that's how you think things actually change then thanks, and it's a good things people like you weren't around when this country was founded to tell everyone how stupid they were to try and fight against their British rulers. According to you they should have all just stayed in line and did as they were told by their masters.

Yeah, from what I hear, we've got one of the easier paths to get a permit. The form I filled out is, I think, the same one I fill out when buying a gun. The permit is good for 5 years.

That is good to know. I know in lots of states you have to show a training certificate with your ccw forms. Wife is going to get her 2nd one tomorrow. Not that she needs two, since she hasn't used guns very much though it makes her and I feel better for her to get more training. I don't want her carrying until she feels 100% comfortable using the weapon and is prepared to pull the trigger if she ever actually needs to use it. Of course we are both hoping she never needs to, but as I'm sure you know if you aren't prepared to pull the trigger if you pull the weapon then it is probably more dangerous than not having one.

Edit....In CO even a person to person sale is supposed to go through an FFL.

Points are awarded to the next 14 finishers. So yes, they matter. The guy who loses the presidential election doesn't get points. Not sure what you were trying with that.

In the primaries, if it's not a winner take all state, losers still get delegates (points). Not sure if that was the basis for the discussion...hard to keep up.

I'm pretty sure we are talking general election and why people have to vote for the "lesser of two evils" according to IYC.
