Anyone been to Iceland?

I have a good friend that is there now with his family on Spring break. The pictures he's sending are amazing. My family is begging to go and personally I have no desire. Yeah, the natural beauty is amazing, but I've heard the food sucks and the night life is non-existant. Plus as others have said everything is stupid expensive. But I'll probably end up having to go as dad never gets his way.
