Just heard the bad news! My family and I are all pulling for you Justin! Hope you are up and around soon. Take care brother. Michael Garofalo and Family
Justin Marm: Update Hello Group, I am Justin's brother here in VA. Unfortunately he is still in a coma. But he is still alive after almost 96 hours. He is past the critical stage and looks like he will live. It appears he is breathing on his own slightly. Of course the docs give you the negative viewpoint and we are looking for all positive signs. The trach is going in tomorrow (Wed) with a feeding tube. This will relive the irritation of having tubes in his nose and throat. Then they will try to get him to breath on his own. He is receiving the best care possible at Tallahassee Memorial. They have a top notch head trauma center. The concern is how long he was without oxygen, the estimate is two minutes. It has been a rough few days - one that I wish no one had to go through. Our/his family is all down there or headed that way. We really appreciate the support the racing family have given: Phil, Denise, and folks at the track, along with many many others. As many know this type of injury will require long term recovery/rehab. Our direct email is: [email protected] if any one wants to email. We will continue to post on this site and answer any questions and provide periodic updates. Justin would prefer not to have this kind on attention - but I am sure he will appreciate it. We will print out the replies and put in his room. Joe and Lynn Marm
I just read this--I'm local. if I can help, please don't hesitate. I work maybe 10 minutes from tmh, and I'll be in town this week and the week after, at least.
Hang in there and fight the fight and many thoughts and prayers to the family also. Thanks for the updates and please post any needs that are urgent on here also... Jody Stewart
My brother went through a similar ordeal in '99. My brother recovered to about 92% of his pre-wreck self, and it sounds like Justin in on a the same path. Justin's a tough cookie, so I'm optimistic he'll settle for no less than 93%. Hang in there Marmo!
All of us at WERA are still sending thoughts and prayers your way Justin - fight hard - you hava a little girl that needs her Dad - fight hard.
Justin, I have been praying for you and your family and will continue to do so. I know you can make it through this! Randy
