So can somebody explain to me how Rivian a startup car company, that has not delivered one single vehicle to a customer is somehow attained a value greater than Ford Motor Company or General Motors.
Two American companies whom combined have over 200 years of manufacturing and hundreds of millions of vehicles produced.
And how does Amazon in 1 quarter make 12 billion dollars off that investment?

Really, I want to know they're not even a self-sufficient company same as Tesla.
    They are government-subsidized.....
Tell me if I'm wrong ? is not Amazon, Tesla, Rivian basically a socialist automobile company and organization?

Seriously I'd like to hear some thoughts on this as I'm dumbfounded my brain won't compute the absurdity of this.

I'd be lying if I said I have never purchased anything on Amazon.
I have...but very few times ,I am so against it every way shape and form IMO its destroying America small buissness and everybody is going along with it...

As far as I can tell:
    • AMZN has proven ability to rake in the money
    • 200 MM primers paying ~$130 per year for a membership
    • Completely immune from government shut downs of any kind
    • Cleaning mom and pop clocks 24/7
    • All that know how invests in an industry fully supported by the woke
    • globular warming is a cult that Sun Myung Moon could only dream of
    • and the best of all: you are living in Idiocracy and AMZN is Brawndo

Current market valuations generally aren't supported by any reality IMO. Those companies that are seen as "up and coming" are attracting hordes of cash from investors, for better or worse.

I don't get the logic and I just don't understand how company that has not put even 4 tires on real pavemeny with a single vehicle; is valued GM or Ford ?

So what is Amazon is it ordered 160,000 Rivians ... How does $100,000 * 160000 create a 12 billion dollar profit for the person who is buying these trucks

To be correct, they have put at-least 2 trucks on the road. Looking back at history....that’s 100% more than Shelby started with.

    Two things...

    1. I don't know at what pre-IPO stage Amazon was an investor, but if it was early enough and they invested let's say... $2b at $10/share and now its $60-something/share, there's your $12b.

and 2. Tesla was massively government subsidized. That's the only way it even survived for a decade until finally making a profit. Rivian has delivered more vehicles this year than Tesla did the first year of the Model-S. Whether or not they continue on and mimic/beat Tesla's history of growth or fail, who knows, but you're glossing over a bunch of stuff.

Why its valued that high is... well I understand why, even if I don't agree with it and think its stupid for similar reasons as yourself. It is what it is and people with money are looking for places to put that money to earn them more money while people without fall further behind. That creates weird investment spikes and scenarios sometimes.

    Well ..I didn't know they've delivered a vehicle yet.
I was watching a newscast earlier, on television a investment segmeng, while sitting in a doctor's office and it stated thst Rivian have not produced one single vehicle for customer delivery yet ?
    So I'm confused even more

"Rivian reported Monday it produced 1,015 vehicles in 2021 — a figure that is in line with expectations that the company lowered last month. Rivian delivered 920 vehicles by the end of 2021, according to a release issued Monday."

"Tesla was founded in July of 2003, and the first car was delivered in February of 2008."

"In 2007, Tesla announced plans to build Model S sedans starting in 2009, but production was repeatedly delayed to 2011. The first ten customers received their cars at the Fremont factory on June 22, 2012, at the official launch. Production grew from 15–20 cars completed per week in August 2012 to about 1,000 cars per week in 2015."

    Two more things...

    1. I've said it before here in relation to geopolitics, but damn do Americans have the shortest memories on earth (not directed at you just a general statement).
    2. I think Tesla's first year Model S numbers were like 962 or 982 or something like that, but damn... 5 years to even make a single car, then 4 more years to even make a an S, and then its been a decade since then now. People want instant success or you suck these days, but give Rivian 10 more years and let's see where they're at. This same kinda ridiculous over-valuation kept Elon afloat, maybe it'll work here too.

Rivian has the right people and backers to really succeed in comparison to the other new electric start ups, no doubt about that. A lot of market theory is now putting company valuations on what they could become versus where they currently are. While there’s a lot of arguments for that strategy/speculation, traditional value investment/fundamental market views just see it as crazy.
