This is a learning process for me, have those fowl been gutted? When do you gut the bird? Soon after shooting them?
No they haven’t been gutted. Process them as soon as you get back. I’m not as proficient as some who can simply clip the wings and just pull the head off separating the breasts from everything.
Did you guys see this monster? https://woodburyoutfitters.com/the-...nEDQIvKuby_OJRWEd8OTrU83BKwItiYHtWScWCybG1Slo
A real simple and fast way is lay them down breast up, wings outstretched, stand one foot on each wing right to body and pull on the feet. You end up with two breasts and parts for the garbage in one easy move. It works, but make take a few birds to get proficient.
Got 4 hogs yesterday AM . The one in the back was pregnant so maybe I got 15 hogs or so.shot with my workhorse gun, 6.8 SBR
We are in 2019... But I'm lazy and not making a new thread. Going to San Antonio in 2 weeks for some hog hunting. Will update here if I'm successful.
kind of a slow hunt, according to the guides. only saw one hog during 3 days in south texas- but i didnt miss. cold, wet and muddy trip, but was pretty fun either way. https://imgur.com/gallery/HHon7yy yes i know its sideways. bite me.
This was the year of the boar. Ended up shooting like 15 of them. I missed at least 5 others trying to shoot them from the truck... Need to work on my drive by skills. Took my 6.5 range gun out and the ELDM put him DRT. I thought I could do double duty with this gun and yes it can do it but I have better tools for the job. Scope was a nuisance, heavier, I had to be extra careful with the light trigger and so on. After I shot this I went back to my truck, got my trusty a bolt and continued hunting. I'm now reconsidering my manners Stock on order. Not sure if it's worth it
