Who'da thought the Eyetalians and the Spanyards were pussy whipped. Thought for sure they would've been whippin that pussy!
Wishful thinking. Absent war, or a massive education/contraception campaign, populations least likely to be able to sustain themselves will continue to reproduce at high rates. They are bored.
What's up with using a Hawaiian family in the Italy section? I only read that part, rather than a shaming campaign to get couples to start reproducing, they ought a be sharing the stats from other European countries whose migrants/refugee's have been out reproducing at a 3-5x higher rate and share what that means in a decade or two for their countrymen. If they don't get it after that, not much was lost to begin with.
Let me get this right, first world countries with good education, health care and good futures for children aren't having any kids. On the other side third world countries that are crap are knocking out kids left and right. Sounds like a bright future for humanity?
It's not that simple. You have to look at the population pyramid. When a society has alot of old people but less and less young people to prop it up through labor and taxes then shit gets really uncomfortable pretty quick.
Simple explanation, no money to go out, no electricity so when night come let's fuck, no cost fun! (Wife to the huseband): What are we going to do if I get pregnant!? (Husband to the wife): Don't worry America will feed the kids, so let's fuck again!
I find demographics to be an interesting topic. And to answer that question, yup that pretty much seems to be the trend. When a civilization/society becomes wealthier/healthier/more educated....their birthrate inevitably goes down.
That's not quite how it goes. I just had to do an investigation into this for one of my classes. In eastern and central Africa it goes something like this: 1. Women are uneducated, can't support themselves. They have fewer rights and opportunities than men. 2. Religion (or the excuse of religion) plays a huge part in everything - from punishment, to rules, to the hierarchy of who's in charge. 3. They simply don't have access to contraception or medical care in some areas, and even if they do, see #1 and #2. Ethiopia has made huge strides, and it is largely because the economy has improved there, a lot. Many women have become educated, employable, and able to support themselves. That's done a lot to bring the birth rates down. According to the research I did, there's a marked difference between people educated in the cities, and people in the border region to the north, where religion, lack of education, and no access to contraceptives or medical care live. Its really pretty sad. Edit: This is one of the articles I used. They were averaging seven children! Its down to about 4.6, which is still high, but a huge improvement for sustainability.
Jesus. That's the last time I do that... I'm in my final semester - y'all wanna see my report card when I'm done?
