Woo Hoo! See you there, Greg! How is the R7 coming together? Tested it yet? Curious to hear your thoughts as a long time SV guy.
Anybody that will be at VIR have a 1st gen SV650 axle nut they could bring and sell me? I'll being showing up Sunday after the races for the Aprilia trackday on Monday. Unless mad8v might be able to get one to me before I leave.
*Sigh* Friday I have Chicago Saturday I have Kenny G Steeltoe may be there Sunday. I haven't even looked at the schedule.
With the current rules package, an SV won at VIR last year... I know the development has been pushed on the RS660 and the R7 while the development has essentially stopped on the SV, but the lack of strong finishes by SV riders in 2022 is because the front runners are on other equipment. That being said, I know the folks overseas are building 100hp SV700s under supertwins rules package. It would be extremely tough to get there as a SV677 with MA rules.
I just rode there last week and the new Armco on the front straight doesn’t inspire confidence at the kink. Also saw a few people go off just before 3 and got close to that new section. They weren’t particularly fast either…
Last off season. It was discussed here a bit in respect to VIR’s desire to accommodate the cars over bikes. VIR is running a close second to Mongo in the killing motorcycle road racing department.
JRC P1, 18/19 riders, all on Kawi. Appears seven racers then the rest of the field. 3-4mph top speed difference between the lead pack and everyone else thus far. Bottom of the pack 5-7mph off.
TWN P1, 40 entrants on live timing. So far a six rider breakaway. Hayden Schultz / Jackson Blackmon on the R7 trying to catch up the Apes. Top SV floating around 15th-ish / six seconds off the pace.
