That doesn't look like any 688 I ever saw. Then again, the Providence (SSN719) was the newest boat I ever boarded to fix shit the bubbleheads broke.

I'm guessing (and that's all it is) a Seawolf. They were in the concept stage last time I paid any attention at all to boats that sink on purpose.

I ran into a guy with a pony in Tractor Supply. He visits on a regular basis.

 

I was going to say there's what, 3 commissioned Seawolf subs? I worked with ship-alt data way back when. You'd see normal stuff then line after line for ssn-21 and go WTF until you realised, "oh, it's a Seawolf" it's still in the yard or in it's way back.

I'd hate to see the ship alt lost and schedule for the Zumwalt class.

Russian Akula class submarines... actually ALL Russkie boats were LOUD AS SHIT!

An Ohio class 'Murrican ballistic missile submarine boat, when operating at under 10 knots, generated less noise than the seawater it displaced would have normally made on its own.

I wasn't a sonar tech. I was a Machininst's Mate... which basically is a rating that the Navy uses for anything mechanical that doesn't SPECIFICALLY fit into any other rating's job description.
